Super excited to start this project today! Not only to celebrate the importance of The Arts to individuals and communities in Newport but to work alongside 3 super super talented mosaic artists/ fine artist / muralist of South Wales - Andy Bolton, Louise Shenstone, Maureen O'Kane. What a team !
Let the celebration begin!
We will be in the Riverfront all afternoon.

Fringe Newport - The ART in Living

Inspire Design
The ART in Living artists are looking to make collages that tell a visual story of how The Arts positively effects peoples lives in Newport.

I wondered if you would you be interested in contributing an image we could use as inspiration or reference, that could become part of the design or patternation within the soon to be created mosaic artworks.

The 4 figurative artworks being made by The ART in Living team, local communities and professional UK artists at the BAMM event, will celebrate the importance of art in activity and will be displayed in community settings in Newport.

A QR Code imbedded into the artworks will link to a list of all the contributors to the project.

Please email me your image/s to info@stephanierobertsart.com. Deadline is Sunday 15th September.

After much discussion we have decided to heavily subsidise the course to £35 due to such a late call out for this project.
Such an incredible opportunity!

The Fringe Project is a community based mosaic art project that celebrates The ART in living.

We are creating opportunities for people to celebrate how The Arts enhances peoples lives, in an experiential, practical and collective way, through the process of art activity.

DATE for the creative diary - Saturday 14th September

A Drop-in Design Session for all the workshops to the Fringe - 'The ART in Living' will be held on Saturday 14th Sept. 1-4pm @ The Riverfront - Meeting at the upstairs foyer.
This event is free.

Newport Fringe would like to invite you to participate in these exciting creative activities that celebrate the BUDD MOSAIC’S at Old Green Intersection, roundabout and underpasses.

‘The ART in Living’ project will be making new figurative mosaic artworks for communities of Newport, inspired by the communities of Newport. Reflect the significant impact The Arts has on peoples lives. So find out more and sign up to get involved. No experience in art required.

Bring and share
This project gives our participants a voice about what is important to them about identity and the place where they live.

So please bring with you photographs, objects or fabrics that help tell the story of who you are.
As fun or symbolic as you please.

There has been some amendments to the structure of the workshops so please see the changes.

Drop-in Design Session - Saturday 14th September 1-5pm Riverfront so to bring diversity, identity and a collaboration of ideas together. Come and get involved and together help design 4 life sized figures that say something about who you are, in the place where you live.

I'll be talking about my Street Fairy Project as one of the speakers in this years BAMM Forum 2023. How exciting to join that fabulous line up! Thanks BAMM for the invitation.

Tickets are now available for our 2023 Forum! Join us in person in the village of Youlgreave in the Peak District for an inspiring weekend of talks and workshops, not to mention the chance to catch up with fellow mosaic enthusiasts in person!

The programme is still being finalised andwill include talks from Will Rosie Carrie Reichardt Francesca Busca: Artivist, Rubbish Artist Stephanie Roberts, mosaic artist Kelley Knickerbocker, Wilma_van_der_meyden, Phil Smith, and a short film featuring the work of Maud Milton.

There will also be workshops led by Will Rosie, Francesca Busca and Tamara Froud.

LEARN THE ART OF MOSAIC
Course is run in the beautiful surroundings of Wentwood Forest. Come and be inspired creatively and learn the techniques of its therapeutic processes.
Course is open to age 16 plus, beginners and experienced.
