Based from their Parenting Hub at Quay Arts in Newport, this role will focus on supporting families who may be marginalised, isolated, or facing barriers in accessing universal services. You will work across Newport and wider community settings, helping parents and carers feel confident, connected, and included within local provision. thrive.

As part of the role, you will facilitate and support engaging stay and play sessions, creating welcoming environments where children can learn through play and parents can build confidence, friendships, and support networks. You will also take the lead in delivering their Young Mums Project, providing targeted support and opportunities for young mothers to build confidence, develop peer relationships, and access the support they need to thrive.

The postholder will undertake outreach work within St Mary's Hospital and other community settings, promoting and facilitating our Baby Steps programme for expectant and new parents.

Are you passionate about retail, customer service, and gardening products? Do you enjoy working in a busy, hands-on environment where teamwork, presentation, and customer experience are important? If so, we would love you to join us as a Gardening General Assistant at Busy Bee Garden Centre.

Location: Busy Bee Garden Centre Hours: Part-time, Thursday 10-5:30 (7 hrs) Friday 10-5:30 (7 hrs) and Sunday 10-4:30 (6 hrs)

As a Gardening General Assistant, you will support the day-to-day running of the Gardening Department, helping to deliver excellent customer service while maintaining high standards across the shop floor.

You will assist customers with gardening and landscaping products including compost, garden tools, pots, plant care, irrigation, and seasonal lines, while ensuring the department remains well-stocked, tidy, and visually appealing.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for retail and gardening products.

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver friendly and helpful customer service at all times

· Assist customers with gardening product enquiries and purchases

· Replenish stock and maintain product availability

· Maintain high standards of merchandising and presentation

· Support seasonal changes, promotions, and displays

· Assist with stock control, deliveries, and department housekeeping

· Ensure pricing and POS are accurate and displayed correctly

· Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments

· Maintain health and safety standards at all times

· Support the wider team with day-to-day operational tasks
