Over the coming weeks, those who are eligible will receive an invitation for their Covid-19 Autumn Booster vaccination.

Those eligible this Autumn will include:
Residents in a care home for older adults and staff working in care homes for older adults

Frontline health and social care workers

All adults aged 50 years and over

People aged five to 49 years in a clinical risk group

People aged five to 49 years who are household contacts of people with immunosuppression

People aged 16 to 49 who are Carers

For those also eligible for their influenza vaccine, it may be possible to have both vaccines together. Administration of the two vaccinations at one appointment may not always be possible due to a supply of vaccines, or the venue you are invited to. In this case you will receive a separate appointment for each vaccination.
Anyone within the above priority groups will receive an invitation via letter, text or phone call over the coming weeks. Please ensure your contact details are up to date with your GP.

In a month's time Newport City Council will be celebrating Carers Rights Day; a day to help unpaid carers understand their rights as well as the information and support available to them.

We are inviting unpaid carers to join us for a cuppa and cake at one of our events across the city. They can come and speak to a member of the Community Connector team about their caring role and find out what support is available for unpaid carers.

Usual COVID regulations apply such as social distancing, hand sanitising and mask wearing unless exempt.

If you have any questions, please let us know by emailing community.connectors@newport.gov.uk or telephoning 01633 235650.
