Carers IW is based at the Riverside in Newport

We offer a range of services and support to unpaid adult carers of adults. The Carers IW team provides information, support and advocacy to adults who look after another adult. They might be caring for a parent, partner or friend with physical or mental health needs. Alternatively it may be that the person they care for has for example has a substanc

e misuse problem and needs to be supported on an occasional basis. We work with carers who either live on the Isle of Wight or care for someone living on the Isle of Wight. As a charity, we have supported carers for 30 years. We are here to work with carers to ensure they receive the right support and information at the right time, enabling Carers to carry on looking after their relatives, friends and neighbours. If you require information about your role as a carer please do ring us.

Hundreds of unpaid carers have told 5 Live that they’re under strain and overwhelmed.

Many carers said they feel unsupported, with some saying they have no one to rely on beyond friends and family. More than half said they struggle to cover basic needs.

Trinity Theatre gives Carers Isle of Wight a Boost.

A packed clubroom had an evening of fun for this year’s Community quiz at Trinity Theatre. This year it was was for the benefit of CarersIW.

This annual event has been running for several years and has raised many thousands of pounds for local charities. It is run by Cowes Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society which is also a non-profit voluntary organisation.

Many thanks to everyone who attended and to our quiz masters Pete & Tracy Asher, together we raised £700!
