Carers IW is based at the Riverside in Newport

We offer a range of services and support to unpaid adult carers of adults. The Carers IW team provides information, support and advocacy to adults who look after another adult. They might be caring for a parent, partner or friend with physical or mental health needs. Alternatively it may be that the person they care for has for example has a substance misuse problem and needs to be supported on an occasional basis. We work with carers who either live on the Isle of Wight or care for someone living on the Isle of Wight. As a charity, we have supported carers for 30 years. We are here to work with carers to ensure they receive the right support and information at the right time, enabling Carers to carry on looking after their relatives, friends and neighbours. If you require information about your role as a carer please do ring us.

Our Carers Lounges at the hospital will be open first thing in the mornings excluding bank holidays and weekends
The Carers Centre will reopen on Friday 2nd Jan but will deal with any enquiries that would benefit from a reply during this time, excluding bank holidays and weekends.

Offices close at 16:30 on Wednesday 24th December and reopen at 08:30 to 16:30 on Monday 29th December. They close again at 16:30 on Wednesday 31st December and reopen at 08:30 on Friday 2nd January 2026.

For both adult social care and housing, emergency and crisis support can be accessed out of hours via Wightcare (01983) 821105.
