Children under 6 are now being offered the MMRV vaccine instead of MMR as part of the NHS routine childhood vaccination programme.

This replaces the existing MMR vaccine and adds protection against chickenpox, alongside measles, mumps and rubella.

You don’t need to do anything — your GP will contact you when your child is due.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Martyn Butler, OBE.
St Paul’s Clinic strives to provide equitable care for all, and we were incredibly fortunate to count Martyn as a staunch supporter of our mission to improve patient health outcomes.

A true trailblazer for health equity, Martyn co-founded the Terrence Higgins Trust in 1982, transforming how people living with HIV/AIDS are supported and treated in the UK. He dedicated five decades to challenging stigma and ensuring no patient was left behind.

His tireless work, particularly as a Newport-born advocate, to bridge gaps in care and promote inclusivity has left a lasting legacy that will continue to influence our practice.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the countless people whose lives he touched.

Thank you, Martyn, for fighting for a fairer, more compassionate health system.

Infant crying is normal, and it will stop. 👶 But if you're feeling overwhelmed, it's OK to walk away for a few minutes after you've checked your baby is safe.

Never, ever shake a baby.

ICON is here to help prevent Abusive Head Trauma by giving parents and caregivers strategies to cope with infant crying.

The ICON message:
I – Infant crying is normal and it will stop.
C – Comfort methods can sometimes soothe the baby.
O – It's OK to walk away for a few minutes if you have checked that the baby is safe and the crying is getting to you.
N – Never, ever shake a baby.

You are not alone, and help is available. For more information and support resources, visit the official website at iconcope.org.
