Shingles? If needed, your pharmacist can now provide some prescription medicine without seeing a GP.

By expanding the services community pharmacies offer, the NHS is aiming to help free up GP appointments and give people more choice in how and where they access care.

Don't wait for minor health concerns to get worse – think pharmacy first and get seen by your local pharmacy team.

There’s nearly 100 pharmacies across Cornwall that can offer medical advice and help with these health conditions:

• Earache (age 1 to 17)
• Sinusitis (age 12 and over)
• Sore throat (age 5 and over)
• Infected insect bite
• Impetigo, a skin infection
• Shingles (age 18 and over)
• Uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women (age 16 to 64)

📢 Narrowcliff Surgery Update – Working Together for Safe and Fair Access

Our surgery is open for online and telephone access 08:00–18:30, Monday to Friday.

Every week we deal with over 650 online consultations, 1,800 calls and over 2,000 appointments — plus hundreds of prescription and admin tasks.

To keep this safe, we use a triage system so each request is reviewed and prioritised by our team.

💻 Use our e-consultation (Accurx) service whenever you can — it’s fast, secure and lets us respond promptly.
📞 If you can’t use e-consultation, our trained administration team will take your details over the phone.
⚠️ If you ask for an emergency or same-day appointment but don’t share any information about your symptoms, we won’t be able to book you in.
This is essential for patient safety — our clinicians must understand what’s wrong before deciding how to help.

These systems only work with the help of our patients and the dedication of our staff.

👩‍🍳The Victory Programme is a 6 week cooking course that also explores budgeting and growing. If you're looking to develop your cooking skills on a budget, or just want to meet others then please get in touch.
