The morning session is for professionals, however, for the first time, from 1pm the event is open to the public, free of charge!

One door closes, another one opens…

Yesterday, I collected the keys and officially became the proud owner of The Nook — a new wellbeing and creative space in the heart of Perranporth. A dream becoming reality.

And today marked my final day working as a counsellor at Reachout.
It’s been an incredible chapter — filled with honesty, bravery, growth, and a lot of laughter. I’ve had the absolute privilege of walking alongside some amazing young people, hearing their stories, and witnessing their resilience and creativity.

There have been tough moments, beautiful moments, and unforgettable ones. I’m so grateful for it all.

As I say goodbye to Reachout, I step into this new adventure with excitement, hope, and a deep belief in the power of community, creativity, and connection.

Here’s to what’s next…

Creative Counselling – Why I Use It & How It Helps

As part of my training in therapeutic counselling, I gained a Diploma at Newquay Adult Education — but I knew I wanted to offer more than just talk therapy.

That’s why I also trained in the Therapeutic Use of Person-Centred Creative Arts with APCCA - Association for Person-Centred Creative Arts , a powerful approach that brings together art, empathy, and healing.

Creativity is more than expression — it’s a way to connect, understand ourselves, and heal. Whether it's through drawing, movement, writing, or play, creative counselling helps people access parts of themselves that words sometimes can’t reach.

There’s no need to be “good at art.” What matters is the process, not the product.

In this work:

Art can be as therapy — the act of creating itself can be healing.
And art can be used in therapy — within the safety of a professional relationship, creative expression becomes a powerful tool for deep exploration and self-understanding.

This person-centred, pluralistic approach puts you at the heart of therapy. It can support children and adults and often leads to breakthroughs that traditional talking therapy alone might not reach.

If you're curious about creative counselling, I’d love to tell you more. You don’t need to have picked up a paintbrush in years — just a willingness to explore.

Do you have a young person (17+) who’s finding life a bit overwhelming right now?

Maybe they’re feeling stuck, anxious, or struggling to leave the house. Maybe they’re neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, or a gamer who finds the online world safer than the real one. Or maybe they’re creative but don’t know how to express what’s going on inside.

I’m a local counsellor (2B Frank Counselling) offering flexible, down-to-earth support for young people who don’t feel like they fit the mould.

Hello, I’m Siobhan
This is a little self-portrait I made recently.
Art has always been my way to make sense of life — it’s where I feel most at home. I’ve tried things like yoga and meditation over the years, but nothing has ever helped me find calm or clarity quite like creating art. 🎨
Now, I’m lucky enough to be able to offer creative counselling sessions where art can be part of my clients process.
You don’t need to be “good” at art (whatever that means!) — just open to seeing where it can take you.

Trans people are not a threat!
Predators don’t need disguises to harm women and girls — they rely on power, not pronouns.
As someone who has worked closely with many trans clients, I know the strength, humanity, and truth they carry. The UK Supreme Court’s decision does not reflect the reality I witness in my therapy room or the trans social I help facilitate.

Trans rights are human rights.
