Training saves lives. Confidence changes everything.
Sarah shared this after using her new skills in a real emergency:

A man had a fit at the edge of the traffic lights, my colleague was out there already she called the ambulance. Luckily due to the training the 2 days before I was calm and knew DRABC so went through the phases. We moved the casualty into the recovery position, he was blowing bubbles so was breathing and checked to make sure a fair few times. If this had been me before the course i would have massively panicked however I knew this was a good sign. He stirred a few times and after 20 minutes woke up a little we made sure he was ok and he felt safe but definitely not ok. Luckily after 30 minutes the ambulance arrived and he was ok and was with them.

The course 100% made me feel calm and I knew what to do without this I would have panicked and wouldn’t have had a clue.

I hope others take on the course as it does prove without it I would have been a bystander helpless in this situation. I would urge as many people to have this behind their belts. The coach driver gave myself and another defib which we didn’t use but again before this course I would not have had a clue.
