The Bowen Technique has been described as being 'one of the most down to earth therapies in the book'

Bowen works by releasing/relaxing the connective tissues, increasing hydration in the tissues and lowering the sympathetic tone in the autonomic nervous system. Developed by Tom Bowen in Australia, using very gentle non-manipulative moves over muscle and connective tissue with only thumbs and ind

ex fingers. A treatment consists of a series of gentle rolling moves with frequent pauses between moves giving the body time to benefit from each set. The body is treated as a whole or a specific problem can be targeted. A wide range of problems can be helped using Bowen:

Our Story

Healing Hands Newquay has grown from and interest in helping my family with various aliments using Bowen to a place for people to come and relax, rejuvenate, and re-balance. Adding more holistic therapies to my skills and continual post graduate courses in my qualified professions. Each one I have been drawn to for complimenting the other. I qualified in Bowen in 2015 and since added Indian Head Massage, Reiki and now training in Aromatherapy to lead on to clinical Aromatherapy.

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage has been used for over 5000 years in Asia and focuses on the head, scalp, face, neck, shoulders and upper back. Originating from Ayurveda, a system which focuses on overall balance of mind, body and spirit. It has many benefits as it directly effects the nervous system providing relief from mental and physical stress including stimulating the blood flow and lymphatic system, promoting hair growth, improving energy levels, and giving relief from headaches and tight neck/shoulders. It is ideal for clients who spend a lot time in front of a computer screen. Treatments are carried out in a seated position and oils may be applied to your hair to enhance the experience.
