With over 20 years’ experience of working with children and young people, we know how to create happy, fun and safe spaces to get that % ⬆️ and support kids to thrive.

💥ARE YOU READY?

Sunday 1st March marked our first Break Room Pop Up Market of 2026 — and our first event of the year. And oh my, were we ready to reconnect with the awesome Newquay community - yes we were!

We opened the doors to local independent sellers and enterprising coastal brands showcasing their ocean-inspired wares- from vintage surfboards, paddles, threads, treads and apparel. Craft, culture and creativity under one roof.

Guess the real magic?

The conversations.

Friendly chats with Sunday walkers who wandered in.
New connections and friendships sparked.
Inspiring discussions about future collaborations.
Grassroots businesses backing each other, the kind, ethical, cool way.

This is The Break Room.

This is where partnerships grow, support is real and community comes first.

This is where the magic happens.

🌊 ROOM WITH A VIEW

Every fin you see here is original.
All vintage.
All 1960s–70s.

There’s a Wave Set from Oz.
Two first-generation Bilbo fins made in Cornwall.
And a second-generation Bilbo that carries the story forward.

This isn’t décor. It’s surf history.

The Break Room is more than a community space and studio. It’s where surf heritage meets modern wellbeing. Where ocean culture hangs above you… and you land softly on your yoga mat below.

Savasana (aka: Lie on a mat and chill out!) with stories overhead. Not a bad view, hey?

🌊 THE KROG DEN VINTAGE COLLECTION

Did you know that Cornwall doesn’t have a permanent vintage surf museum? Not even in Newquay- the surf capital of the UK! Crazy right! Well, for all you vintage surf fans out there-Krog Den has you covered! Krog Den Surf Shop has one of the largest vintage board collections in the UK and they are now home in our community space- The Break Room.

As we dive into phase 2️⃣ of the BR developments, creating our inclusive wellbeing space, follow our socials for all things vintage surf boards, ocean, stoke 🤙🏼.

🔵 BOARD FACTS | 1971 Bilbo

This 1971 single fin Bilbo, from one owner from new, was shaped in Newquay by the travelling surfer Peter Colless. The iconic ‘Bilbo’ name was created by merging the two names - Bill Bailey and Bob Head. They wrote to J. R. R. Tolkien, the author of Lord of the Rings to ask permission to use the Bilbo name, and were granted a 👍🏼

We signed a lease to a small empty workshop 6-weeks ago- our vision bold and our impact goals even bolder- to create a GRASSROOTS COMMUNITY space, built on INCLUSIVE CREATIVITY, WELLBEING and all things OCEAN CULTURE. And oh my, we’ve most definitely felt these feels over the past three Pop Up Market we’ve hosted since signing.
