As a paediatric osteopath, these are the 5 blends I reach for every single day in clinic 👶🏼

And honestly… most babies I see fall into one of these patterns.

Reflux.
Colic.
Overstimulation.
Birth strain.
Teething.

When you can recognise what’s actually going on, everything starts to feel a bit less overwhelming.

I use these alongside osteopathy every day, and the combination works so beautifully for supporting babies in a really gentle, effective way 🤍

I created these so mums can have that same support at home — even if you’re not coming to see me in clinic.

They’ve just gone up online ✨

And they make such a lovely, practical gift for a new mum — especially once teething kicks in 😅

Nearly every baby I’m seeing in clinic right now has some level of congestion 👀

And I don’t mean a cold…
I mean the snuffly, blocked sound that’s been there from early on — or just never fully clears.

In most cases, it’s not random.
It’s usually a sign of irritation somewhere in the system.

For some babies it’s milk, for others it’s environment (dry air, dust, pets)… and very often it’s linked to reflux too.

The key thing to understand is — it’s rarely just one thing.
It’s usually a mix.

Once you understand why, things start to improve 🤍

Fresh air is so underrated too — even a short walk can make a noticeable difference.

If your baby is constantly congested, unsettled or struggling with feeds — this is something I look at every day in clinic ✨

Restocking after a busy week in clinic 🤍

These are the blends I reach for every single day with babies — especially in those early weeks when things can feel really overwhelming.

With reflux, colic, wind, teething… most mums don’t actually want to jump straight to medication, they just don’t feel like they have another option.

Homeopathy works so beautifully alongside osteopathy, and it’s become such a big part of how I support families in clinic now.

These have had a little facelift and will be heading online very soon… 👀

Which one would your baby need most right now? 🤍

If your baby is unsettled and no one can tell you why…

You’re not imagining it.

Most of the babies I see in clinic don’t arrive with a diagnosis.

They’re not always labelled reflux.
They’re not always labelled colic.

But their parents know something isn’t quite right.

Maybe feeding feels unsettled.
Maybe they grunt and squirm all night.
Maybe evenings are the hardest part of the day.

Babies communicate through their behaviour, and those patterns often tell us a lot.

When I assess a baby, I look at feeding, digestion, body tension, and how their nervous system is adapting to life in these early weeks.

In clinic I use gentle osteopathic treatment to support babies who may be uncomfortable with feeding, digestion, or body tension.

If you’ve ever had the feeling that your baby just doesn’t seem comfortable…
trust your gut — there’s often more we can do to help.

After we start making changes to feeding, one of the next questions I often get is:

👉 does the dummy matter too?

And the short answer is… it can.

For babies who are already unsettled, refluxy or gulping air, what they suck on throughout the day can either support the changes we’re making — or keep reinforcing the same issues.

This isn’t about taking the dummy away (and yes… sorry 🙈 sometimes that does mean going against the beloved MAM).

It’s just about choosing one that encourages proper sucking, rather than letting baby passively hold it.

Small tweaks like this won’t solve everything on their own — but they can really help alongside the bigger work we’re doing 🤍

If lying your baby down feels like setting off a tiny alarm system 😅 — this is so common.

Yes, reflux can contribute.

But I also look at neck tension, diaphragm restriction, birth strain and digestive pressure patterns.

Flat changes how pressure moves through the body.

For some babies, especially those who’ve had a tougher arrival, that shift just doesn’t feel good.
And of course babies love being on mummy and daddy — that’s completely normal 🤍

But if your baby genuinely never settles flat, arches every time, or can only sleep upright… I’d be thinking there’s more going on than “they just like cuddles”.

If this sounds like your little one and evenings or sleep feel hard, you don’t have to just wait it out. It’s something I look at every week in clinic — and often it’s simpler than parents expect.

One of the questions I almost always ask parents is:
“Do they take a dummy?” 👶🏼

Not because I think every baby should use one — but because the answer tells me a lot.

If a baby won’t take a dummy, it often gives me clues about what’s going on in their body: how comfortable their palate is, how well their tongue can lift and cup, how their jaw and neck are moving, and how hard their nervous system is working to feed and settle.

Very often, these babies are also feeding frequently, struggling to settle between feeds, dealing with reflux or wind, or finding feeding more tiring than it should be.

So when a baby doesn’t take a dummy, I don’t see it as fussiness — I see it as information. It helps guide me on where to look for physical strain and what might need support 🧠✨

If this sounds like your baby, you don’t have to just wait and hope things improve. Gentle support can often make feeding and settling feel much easier — for both of you 🤍

So many of you said frequent waking is the hardest part right now — especially with babies under 6 months 🤍

From an osteopathic perspective, frequent waking is often less about routines or habits, and more about how comfortable and regulated a baby’s body and nervous system feel.

Young babies don’t yet have the ability to self-regulate between sleep cycles — they rely on a parent to help them settle again.

This is why cry-it-out isn’t appropriate for babies under 6 months.
Responding to your baby isn’t creating a problem — it’s supporting their nervous system while it’s still developing.

In clinic, I’m looking beyond sleep itself and asking:
how comfortable does this baby feel in their body?
is there tension from birth or growth?
could digestion, reflux, or nervous system overload be playing a role?

When those things are supported, babies often find it easier to move between sleep cycles and resettle — not because they’ve been trained, but because they’re more comfortable and regulated.

If you’re in the thick of this, I see you. I’ve been there — and with the right support, it really does get easier 🥰

Why osteopathy works so well for babies 👶

Your baby’s body remembers birth.
Sometimes small areas of tension can affect how they feed, digest or settle — and it shows up as reflux, wind, poor sleep or fussiness.

Osteopathy helps release that tension gently, so their body and nervous system can relax and function properly again.

That’s why so many parents notice such a difference after treatment —
it’s calm, it’s gentle, and it works with your baby’s body, not against it. 💕

If you’ve been wondering whether osteopathy could help your baby, send me a message — I’m always happy to chat☺️

✨ In the middle of the daily witching hours? ✨

That time of evening when nothing seems to work…
😫 Baby crying
🤱 Feeding on and off
😵 Refusing to settle

Most mums are told “it’s just the witching hours, totally normal.”
But here’s the truth 👉 common doesn’t mean normal.

As a paediatric osteopath (and a mum who remembers those evenings well), I see babies all the time who struggle in the evenings because of:
✨ Tension in their body from birth
✨ Digestive discomfort like wind, colic or reflux
✨ A nervous system that’s stuck in “fright or flight” mode

With gentle hands-on treatment, osteopathy helps release those strains, support digestion, and calm their little nervous system 💛

That often means calmer evenings for your baby… and a chance for you to finally breathe.

🌙 So if you’re reading this right now with a restless baby in your arms — know you don’t just have to wait it out. Peaceful evenings are possible.

💌 Send me a message if this sounds familiar — I’d love to help 😊

Your 4th trimester isn’t what you imagined.

You thought it would be cuddles, naps, and finding your rhythm.
Instead, it’s reflux, colic, CMPA, tongue tie, laryngomalacia...
A baby who never settles. A body that’s exhausted.

You’ve been told “it’s just colic”
Or “they’ll grow out of it.”
But the truth is — your instincts are right.
Something doesn’t feel okay.

And I want you to know… you’re not crazy. You’re not failing.
You’re just missing the right kind of support.

👋🏼 I’m a paediatric osteopath and I’ve spent years helping mums just like you understand what’s really going on.
I look at your baby as a whole — birth history, feeding, digestion, oral function, tensions, and more.

We work together to find the root cause — and finally start helping your baby feel more settled (and you too).

💛 If you’re lost, overwhelmed, and not sure who to turn to next — I’m here.
📅 You can book your appointment through the link in bio.

✨ You don’t have to figure this out alone.
