Walking for All,
Walk in Hilltown this Thursday….
With Newry, Mourne and Down District Council
🚶 With National Walking Month underway, it’s the perfect time to get outdoors, build walking into your routine and make the most of the longer days and fresh air. 🌿
👣 The Walking for All programme offers free, friendly weekly guided walks across the district, helping people of all ages and abilities enjoy local spaces, boost wellbeing and connect with others.
🚶♀️ Walking helps mental health by reducing stress, improving mood, and calming the mind. It boosts brain chemicals linked to happiness, helps clear thoughts, and can reduce anxiety and depression.
👣 Walking outside adds extra benefits through nature and sunlight, which support relaxation and better sleep. It’s also simple and easy to maintain as a healthy routine.
👣 Could you take the next step?
We’re currently looking for volunteers to train as Walk Leaders and help organise short, welcoming walks in their local area.
😁 It’s a great way to meet new people, enjoy the outdoors and make a real difference in your community, because small steps can lead to a big impact. 🌱
✅ Free Walk Leader training provided
✅ No experience needed
✅ Flexible volunteering to suit you
✅ Support others to get active and feel included
