Finacea 15% gel and Skinoren 20% cream both contain azelaic acid – but they don’t behave identically on the skin. The lighter gel base in Finacea tends to suit oilier or acne‑prone skin and is commonly used for rosacea‑type redness, while the richer Skinoren cream can work well for drier skin or when the main focus is pigmentation and post‑acne marks rather than lots of active spots. With azelaic acid, the vehicle matters just as much as the percentage, so it’s worth matching the formula to your skin type and main concern rather than just picking the highest number on the box.Refs: Azelaic acid vehicle and pe*******on studies; FDA Finacea 15% gel prescribing information; Skinoren 20% cream product data.

When should you get your moles checked? And how often is enough? 🤔

We get asked this all the time—and the truth is, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer.

What does matter is taking action. If something looks new, changing, or just doesn’t feel right, get it checked. ✅

Regular skin checks can make all the difference, so don’t put it off—peace of mind is always worth it.

Most niacinamide serums on shelves are too weak to do anything for dark spots. Clinical trials using around 4–5% niacinamide, twice daily for 8+ weeks, showed real improvements in hyperpigmentation compared with a placebo cream, while 2% alone hasn’t shown consistent brightening. Check your bottle, check the percentage, and give it enough time before you decide it “doesn’t work”.Refs: BJD 2002, Hakozaki et al.; Clinical evaluation of niacinamide in hyperpigmentation and barrier repair.

Niacinamide is in almost every skincare product right now – brightening, anti‑ageing, acne, “pore‑minimising”, skin cancer prevention…the lot.

But how much of that is actually backed by proper clinical trials, and how much is just clever marketing?

In my new YouTube video I break down the real evidence on niacinamide:

What it genuinely does for pigmentation, acne, ageing and the skin barrier

Where the hype goes too far (including why 2% is often too low for dark spots)

The skin‑cancer prevention data for oral niacinamide – and who should actually be considering it

Exposing your skin to UV light, particularly UVA, releases nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels and lowers blood pressure. This effect is entirely independent of vitamin D production and could significantly reduce cardiovascular risk globally.

We were honoured to attend the Northern Ireland Healthcare Awards — one of only two private clinics invited! ✨

It was a fantastic night, and although we didn’t take home the award this time, we were absolutely delighted to be invited and to be part of such an inspiring event. 💙

I had the amazing opportunity to sit down with Dasha from , and it was such a great experience from start to finish.

We had a really open and honest conversation about burnout, the journey of building my own clinic, how I balance the things I love, and everything in between.

It was a chance to reflect, share my story, and dive into the realities behind it all.

If you want to hear the full conversation, make sure you check out the full video.
