Location: BT34 (Warrenpoint / Rostrevor area)
Job type: Permanent (full-time or part-time hours available)
Salary: Competitive carer role salary
We are recruiting a Personal Care Assistant (PA) to join a team to support a disabled child. PAs will assist with personal care needs, developmental, therapeutic, mobility, social and leisure needs. Part of the role is helping the client to access play and community activities and supporting the client with therapeutic activities/programmes and trips out.
● We are recruiting to cover 2-1 shifts Monday to Friday (3pm - 9pm) to facilitate activities which require two PAs.
● We are also recruiting for weekend only day shifts (8am - 8:30pm).
Hours are set as above and could be combined into two roles - eg two PAs recruited to share 2-1 shifts during week plus one weekend day each or to have one PA full time for 2-1 shifts and one weekend day, and another PA recruited for weekend days only. Some flexibility around set shifts would be required to cover holidays and sickness. This is a permanent position to work alongside the current team whose daily hours are 8am to 8:30pm (day shift) and 8pm to 8:30am (night shift), with PAs working on a rota basis (full time PAs working 3 shifts / 37.5 hours per week).
This is a permanent position with a competitive salary working as part of a team in a home environment. This position would suit an active, energetic and fun person who will build a trusting and engaging relationship with the client. PAs will have great communication skills and be team players.
Essential:
Experience working in a school or care environment.
Willingness to work with children / young people with additional needs.
Willingness to work as part of a team, including working weekends (on a rota basis), and overtime to cover holiday, working on short notice to cover sickness.
