Earwax (cerumen) is a normal physiological secretion of the external auditory canal and, in most individuals, migrates naturally out of the ear. However, cerumen impaction can occur and is a recognised cause of:

A blocked or full sensation in the ear
Temporary hearing loss
Itching or earache
Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
Dizziness or balance problems

These symptoms can significantly affect your comfort, hearing, and confidence. Professional earwax removal can often provide immediate relief.

In line with NICE guidance, earwax removal should be carried out using safe, evidence-based techniques such as microsuction or manual instrumentation, performed by a trained and competent clinician.
