Funeral notice for the late Winifred O’Rourke (née Clarke) - R.I.P.

O’Rourke (nee Clarke), Winifred - R.I.P. Formerly of Parkview, Newtowncloughoge, Newry. 25th September 2025, peacefully at St. Francis’ Private Nursing Home in Portadown. Beloved wife of the late Gerald, loving mother to Niamh, Maeve and Mairead, dear sister to Maureen, Eileen, Pauline, Olive, John, Joan, Angela, Brian and the late Niall; predeceased by her parents Jack and Mona Clarke, formerly of Clontigora.

Winifred’s remains will repose in McGennity’s Funeral Home,18 Forkhill Road, Newry BT35 8LZ on Friday (26th September) from 2-8pm and on Saturday (27th September) from 3-8pm. Removal from the funeral home on Sunday (28th September) at 11.40am, arriving for Requiem Mass at 12.00 noon in The Church of the Sacred Heart, Cloughoge. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.

Crummy (née Devlin), Philomena – R.I.P. 46 Dominic Street, Newry. 20th September 2025, aged 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Kevin, much loved mother of Denise, Gregory, Raphael and Justina, devoted granny to Sarah, Niamh, Conor, Kevin and Christopher, great-granny to Cillian and Ultán, mother-in-law of Kieran and Brenda.

Philomena’s remains will repose at her home this evening (Monday 22nd September) from 7pm until 9pm and tomorrow (Tuesday 23rd September) from 12 noon until 9pm. Respectfully, the house is private on Wednesday morning please. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday (24th September) at 12.30pm in St. Catherine’s church, Newry followed by burial in Lislea cemetery.

Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.

McCabe, Patrick - R.I.P. 54 St. Moninna Park, Meigh. 19th September 2025, suddenly at home. Beloved husband of Siobhán, much loved daddy of Kieran (Sabrina), Catrina and Megan (Brendan), devoted grandpa to Jayden, Mallaidh, Rory Kate and Aoife Rose; predeceased by his parents Bernard and Bridie and his sister Bridie.

Patrick’s remains are reposing at his home until removal at 11.15am on Thursday morning (25th September), arriving for Requiem Mass at 12.00 noon in St. Joseph’s Church, Meigh. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Very deeply regretted by his loving wife, son, daughters, grandchildren, brothers Bernie, Peter, Michael, Desy, Thomas (Tucker), Brendan (Chinky) and Malachy (Joe), sisters Eileen and Jeanietta, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and the extended family circle.

Funeral notice for the late Christina (Teenie) Berrells - R.I.P.

Berrells (nee Mallon), Christina (Teenie) - R.I.P. Hawthorn Hill, Newry, late of Clontigora and Croydon. Peacefully and gracefully in Craigavon Area Hospital on 19th September 2025, after a recent illness. Wife of the late Gene Berrells, daughter of the late Laurence Mallon and Christine (Dowdall), pre-deceased by her siblings Jimmy, Bridie, Rose and Ellen.

Most regretted by her nieces and nephews Christine (Alan), Helen (John), Donal (Lauren), and Peter (Siobhan); her grandnieces and nephews Chloe, Cian, Jamie, Jonathan, Lyndsey, Oisín and Tegan; cousins Kathleen (RIP), Peter, Matt, Raymond, Paul, Bridgeen, Shane, Colleen, Ronan, Conor, Megan, Adrian, Donal, Emma and Daniel. Missed by her many close friends and those in the worlds of bridge and golf.

Teenie’s remains will repose in McGennity’s Funeral Home,18 Forkhill Road, Newry BT35 8LZ on Saturday (20th September) from 2pm until 7pm and on Sunday (21st September) from 12.30pm until removal at 2.30pm, arriving for Requiem Mass at 3.00pm in The Church of the Assumption, Drumalane. Acknowledgment from the The Family of the late Elizabeth (Betty) McEvoy, (née O’Hara) - R.I.P.

We, the family of the late Betty McEvoy, would like to express our sincere gratitude to all who sympathised with us during our recent bereavement.

Thank you to all those who called to the house, sent messages of condolence, attended the funeral, sent floral tributes, or helped in any way during the wake.

Our sincere appreciation is extended to the carers who attended Betty at home, the ambulance crew, doctors and staff of Daisy Hill Hospital and Southern Area Hospice for their kindness and care.

We wish to thank Fr. Richard Naughton for celebrating the Requiem Mass and to Fr. Michael O’Dwyer who concelebrated, to Janice Gribben for the beautiful singing and a word of thanks to all who took part in the Mass.

Thank you to McGennity Funeral Directors, for their handling of the funeral arrangements.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgment will be accepted by all as a token of our deep appreciation.

Betty’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 20th September at 6.30pm in The Church of the Sacred Heart, Cloughoge.
