Acknowledgement from the family of the late Thomas (John) Kennedy - R.I.P.

John’s daughter Philomena, grandson Ciaran, son-in-law John, brother-in-law Sammy and family would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who sympathised with us on our recent bereavement.

Thank you to all who attended the wake and funeral, friends, neighbours and extended family who expressed their condolences, to daddy’s brother-in-law Sammy for all his help over the years. Thanks to daddy’s good friend and neighbour Christina for her kindness. Thank you to Philomena’s friend Anne for all her help over the time of the wake and funeral. We are very grateful to the committee members of Newry Gateway and Rathore School for their attendance.

A very special thank you to all those who were involved in daddy’s medical care over the years – the GPs in Carlingford Surgery, the staff of Omeath Pharmacy, the staff of Lourdes Hospital and the nursing staff in Carlingford Nursing Home who administered daddy’s palliative care.

Thank you to Fr Saji for celebrating the Requiem Mass, to Fr Liam for visiting daddy and to Sharon Larkin for the beautiful music at the mass. Thank you to McGennity Funeral Directors who conducted the arrangements. Thanks to the Carrickdale Hotel for the refreshments after the funeral.

Thank you to all who donated to Evora Hospice, Newry in daddy’s memory.

In loving memory of Maura, a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend whose anniversary occurs 29th November 2025.

Maura’s First Anniversary Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Sunday 30th November in St. Joseph’s church, Meigh.

Gerry’s sons Gary and Tony and family would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who sympathised with us on our recent bereavement.

We are very grateful to our wider family, friends and neighbours who sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, brought food and sent flowers and who attended the wake and funeral, your presence meant a lot and was very much appreciated.

A special word of thanks to Fr Naughton and Deacon Jacek who celebrated the funeral Mass.

Thanks to Cliodhna Cowan and Claire Rooney for the beautiful music during the Mass.

We, the family of the late Lilian Downey (nee Ramsey), would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised with us on the recent loss of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

Thank you to all who sent messages of condolence, mass cards, attended the wake and funeral and sent beautiful floral tributes.

We wish to thank Dr Giby and the team at Meigh Surgery for the amazing care and treatment given to Mum over the last number of years.
Thanks to Richard Garvey and the staff at Meigh Pharmacy and to the entire Enable Care Services team for your great care and support. Special thanks to Martin, Caroline, Perpetua and all those who cared for Mum in any way.

Thanks to Fr. Clyne & Fr. Naughton for celebrating a very fitting funeral mass, Andrea Delaney and Danny McGreevy for the beautiful music and Eamon Murphy (EM Media) for recording the requiem mass.

We wish to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to all who offered their sympathy and supported us during our recent bereavement.

We are very grateful to our wider family, friends and visitors who brought food, helped out, attended the wake and funeral and also donated to Evora Hospice.

We wish to thank Ann’s Home Care, the district nurses, Macmillan, Cornmarket Surgery, Meigh Pharmacy and Evora Hospice, all of whom provided wonderful support and care during Gerry’s illness.

A special thanks to family and lifelong friends of Gerry who continued to visit him both at home and in Evora Hospice and to the I.N.F. for the guard of honour.

To Fr. Seamus for his pastoral care and celebrating the funeral mass and thanks also to the organist, singer and Eucharistic ministers.

To the Flagstaff Lodge for the lovely meal after the funeral.

McArdle, Margaret – R.I.P. Late of 17 Parkview, Newtowncloughoge, Newry. 10th November 2025, peacefully at Evora Hospice, Newry. Beloved wife of the late Peadar, loving mother of Nessa (Angus), Maeve (Johnny) and the late Maura (Sandra), devoted granny to Ava, Paídí, Caoimhe and Rían, dear sister of Maura, predeceased by her brothers Francis and Noel.

Margaret’s remains are reposing at her late residence until removal on Wednesday morning (12th November) at 11.30am, arriving for Requiem Mass at 12.00 noon in The Church of the Sacred Heart, Cloughoge. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Requiem Mass will be live-streamed on the Upper Killeavy Parish website.

Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.

Kennedy, Thomas (John) – R.I.P. Carlingford Lodge and formerly of 263 Cedar Wood Park, Cox's Demesne, Dundalk. Passed away peacefully, 5th November 2025.

Predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret, and remembered with love by his devoted daughter Philomena, grandson Ciaran, son-in-law John and brother-in-law Sammy.

John’s remains will repose at his daughter Philomena’s home, 6 Glen Hill, Dublin Road, Newry on Saturday and Sunday. Removal on Monday morning (10th November) at 11.30am arriving for Requiem mass at 12pm in Church of the Assumption, Drumalane. Burial afterwards in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Dowdallshill, Dundalk.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on his soul.

Devoted wife of the late Tom, beloved daughter of the late Martin and Maggie McDonagh, adoring mother of Martin, Paddy, Margaret, Biddy and Eileen, also the late Brian, Tom, John, Gerard, Mary and Maggie.

Molly's remains will repose at McGennity's Funeral Home (18 Forkhill Road, Newry) today (Thursday) from 2-6pm and tomorrow (Friday) from 2-5pm when her remains will be brought to The Church of the Assumption, Drumalane, to repose overnight. Her Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon on Saturday in The Church of the Assumption, followed by burial afterwards in Cloughoge cemetery.

Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.

Very deeply regretted by her children, her 55 grandchildren, her 180 great-grandchildren, her 32 great great-grandchildren, friends and the wider family circle.

Devoted wife of the late Seán and loving mother to Sabina, Desmond, Teresa, Cyril, Matthew and Martha. Cherished grandmother of Catriona, Toby, Seán, Ciaran, Roisín, Eamonn, Rachel, Aisleen, Shane, Maeve, Ronan, Anna, Clare, Rose, Jenny, Amy, Lily, John and Erin. Beloved sister of Attracta and Joan.

Dorothy's remains will repose at her late residence on Wednesday and Thursday from 1pm to 9pm. Removal on Friday morning at 11.30am, arriving for Requiem Mass at 12 noon in St Mary's Church, Mullaghbawn. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
