Acknowledgement and Month’s Mind Notice for the late Pearce Gray - R.I.P.

We, the family of the late Pearce Gray, would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported and cared for him and us during his illness and in the days following his passing.

We are forever grateful to the wonderful staff in Evora Hospice for the kindness, dignity, and compassion shown to Pearce throughout his illness, and to the staff of the Cancer Centre, Belfast City Hospital, for the care and support given during his treatment.

Our heartfelt thanks also go to the palliative care nurses, Tana and Michelle, to Judith, Sarah and the many district nurses, as well as the Marie Curie sitters, whose guidance, dedication and gentle care allowed Pearce to be at home surrounded by his family.

We would like to thank McKeever’s Pharmacy, Monaghan Street, and the doctors and staff of Cornmarket Surgery for their ongoing care and support.

Special thanks to Fr. Adrian Farelly for celebrating Pearce’s funeral mass, to Seamus Brady for his beautiful singing, and to Jonathan Reynolds the organist.
To the staff and students of St. Joseph’s Convent Primary School for the guard of honour at the chapel.

Sincere thanks to Fr. Patrick and Sr. Fiona for their spiritual support and guidance to Pearce and us throughout his illness.

To our family, friends, and neighbours, thank you for attending the wake, bringing food, sending cards and messages, and for the generous donations made to Evora Hospice. Your kindness, presence, and support carried us through a very difficult time and will never be forgotten.

Molly’s son Michael, daughter Patricia and extended family circle would like to thank all those who sympathised with us on our recent bereavement.

We would like to thank all the staff of Ashgrove Care Home, Newry for the care they gave to Molly during her time with them.

Thank you to all who called to pay their respects at the funeral home or attended the funeral, to Fr Emlyn Mc Ginn who celebrated the Requiem Mass, to Janice Gribben for the lovely music at the Mass.

Our sincere gratitude to Mc Gennity Funeral Directors who carried out the funeral arrangements who guided us with their professionalism and dignified way throughout this difficult time.

Thank you to the Ti Chulainn Centre and Spar Supermarket in Mullaghbawn who hosted and provided the food after the funeral service.

Molly’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated at 10.30am on Sunday 1st February 2026 in St. Mary’s church, Mullaghbawn.

Funeral notice for the late Sean McArdle - R.I.P.

McArdle, Sean - R.I.P. 102 Parkview, Newtowncloughoge, Newry. 12th January 2026, at Daisy Hill Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Anne, loving father of Shane, Paul, Naoimh and Gráinne and devoted Granda to Aimee, Cormac, Aoibhín, Shea, Domhnall, Fearghal, Conor, Oisín, Rónan, Alice, Naoise and Diarmaid, predeceased by his parents Pat and Cissie, his brothers Brendan and Thomas, his sister Rose and his nephew Barry.

Sean’s remains will repose at his home. Respectfully, the house is private tonight please. All are welcome to pay their respects on Tuesday Wednesday between 11am and 10pm each day. House private on Thursday morning please.

Sean’s remains will be removed from his home on Thursday morning (15th January) at 11.30am, arriving for Requiem Mass at 12.00 noon in The Church of the Sacred Heart, Cloughoge. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
Funeral mass may be viewed online on the Upper Killeavy parish website.

Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for him.

Acknowledgement and Month’s Mind Notice for the late Alice McAnuff (née Cromie) - R.I.P.

Alice’s husand Terry would like to sincerely thank his family, friends and neighbours who have supported him during his recent sad bereavement. To all those who called to the house during the wake and shared fond memories of Alice. To those who sent messages, attended the funeral or offered support in any way, it was greatly appreciated.

Thank you to St Joseph’s Care Home, Warrenpoint for their care of Alice while she was with them.

To Father Naughton and Deacon Jacek for the lovely funeral Mass. Thank you to Ellen Maguire and Kevy Canavan for the beautiful music.

Also to Pat Mc Gennity, Jacqueline and Paddy who carried out the funeral with thoughtful dignity.

McGlade, Michael - R.I.P. 21 Longfield Road, Lislea BT35 9TU. 8th January 2026, peacefully at Daisy Hill Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Sheila and devoted father of Paul, Cathal, Michael, Majella and Donal.

Michael's remains will be removed from McGennity's Funeral Home, 18 Forkhill Road, Newry, BT35 8LZ this afternoon (Friday 9th January) at 1.30pm to his family home at 21 Longfield road, Lislea BT35 9TU where friends and family are welcome to visit between 2pm-9pm (each day) today (Friday 9th January), tomorrow (Saturday 10th January) and Sunday (11th January). Michael's remains will be removed from his home on Monday morning (12th January), arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am in The Church of the Sacred Heart Lislea. Burial afterwards in St. Mary's cemetery, Mullaghbawn. House private on Monday morning please.

Acknowledgement and Month’s Mind Notice for the late Brian McQuaid - R.I.P.

We the family of the late Brian McQuaid wish to express our appreciation to all who supported us during our recent bereavement.

Thank you to all who attended the wake and funeral mass, we appreciate this was quite a journey for many. We thank those who brought food, sent cards and letters and those who made donations in lieu of flowers.

We offer a special thanks to the family and friends who supported us throughout Brian's illness, we will never forget your kindness.

We recognise McVerry, McGee, Farnon and Aaqil Surgery, Nu Pharm Pharmacy, SHSCT teams and the many carers and sitters who supported us over the years enabling us to care for Brian at home.

Thank you to Evora Hospice for giving Brian some respite care during the latter stages and The Happiness Cafes for their continued support.

Special thanks to Father Patrick for celebrating the requiem mass, to Maria for the beautiful singing and to Terry the organist. Thank you to the Flagstaff Lodge for the provision of food following the funeral mass.

Our sincere gratitude to McGennity Funeral Directors for their professionalism, guidance and to the dignified way the funeral arrangements were carried out. Thank you for making such a difficult time that bit easier for us.
