This week in my corporate wellbeing sessions, my audience was based in the US, and we chatted all things Immunity and Steps to Better Sleep. Both of these topics are so closely connected.

When we sleep well, our body repairs itself, and we feel really good. But, if you are like me and struggle with menopausal poor sleep, then you may have found your immunity not as strong as it used to be. There is no doubt that those who sleep less than 7 hours per night are more susceptible to picking up colds and infections.

How many hours sleep do you get per night? Do you wake often in the night? Do you wake feeling refreshed in the morning? Or do you feel like you drag yourself through your day after a poor night's sleep? I would love to hear your thoughts on this

☀️

After some fabulous, relaxing holiday time off in the sunshine, I'll be back at work for a few weeks from Tuesday 22nd July and answering emails then.

I've reverted back to my old Summer working hours from previous years and will not be taking on new clients until September or taking new bookings for any new workshops over July and August.

However, feel free to forward enquiries to me for September. I'm delighted to be offering more indepth behaviour change coaching on top of my usual services - a great addition for long-lasting behaviour change.

DM me with any questions.

Time off is a non-negotiable for me, especially during Summer months. As always, you can send me a message via the contact form on my website.

Yesterday's corporate workshop was all about Good Gut Health. We talked about the Gut-Brain connection, our microbiome, exercise to increase microbiota diversity, and much more.

Aim for 30-40 different plant varieties every week, including beans, lentils, chickpeas, starchy, and non starchy veg varieties. Why not set yourself a challenge for the next week?

Are there foods that you know are perhaps causing digestive symptoms such as bloating, diarrhoea, constipation, or wind? Perhaps try removing those foods for 7 days, and keep a food journal to track how you feel before gently reintroducing them to gauge the effect.

Poor gut health has been linked to lower levels of serotonin, our happy hormone 😀. This may show up as low mood, lack of motivation, or even poor s.

Check in with your gut today to see how you are doing.

Yesterday's Corporate Wellbeing workshop was all about mental health in the work environment. Based on the fact we spend so much time at work, it's imperative that employers create a structure where people can communicate clearly if they need help and support.

1 in 4 of us will struggle with our mental health in our lifetime, and much of our stress can originate from the workplace. In this session, we talked about how to navigate change in our lives, fostering a growth mindset to help us grow and learn from adversity. We also discussed the importance of social connection to ensure employees do not feel socially isolated during challenging times. The big takeaway was communication - keeping the dialogue going to support employees.

How do you support your mental health at work, I'd love to hear in the comments below.

This is one of my favourite workshops to deliver to businesses and organisations - Tackling Imposter Syndrome.

How many of you have felt this in your lifetime? I know I struggled with this hugely during my life. It's probably why I continued to continuously study, sign up for more and more training courses and CPD events. But it never alleviated the feeling. So, I delved a lot deeper and more, and I am thankful to say the feelings only pop their head up occasionally now.

In the session, we delve deeply into the psychological underpinning of this Syndrome to help give you more understanding of what is at play here.

If you feel this workshop might support your employee wellbeing, why not get in touch for more information.

Starting my morning the best way possible, in nature.

Today's wellbeing workshop is The Power of Self Care. Getting outdoors is my self care. What's yours?

Research shows that 2 hours of getting into nature and green spaces every week supports our mental health and helps to reduce anxiety and support a healthy circadian rhythm. Take breaks between meetings, have your morning cuppa in the garden or even taking the dog for a quick walk. It all counts.

What's your daily routine for getting outdoors?

Enjoying a fabulous breathwork week in Yorkshire. What a joy to breathe in this scenario, especially with about 1500 wee lambs leaping about. It's giving me lots of time to stop and enjoy nature in all its finest.

Take a moment to pause, notice your breath, and how you feel in this moment. Being aware of how we are breathing is the first step to enable your breath to support your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Even a simple box breath (inhale for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 4, and hold for 4). Repeat a couple of rounds and check in again how you feel.

Enjoy the long weekend, everyone. New breathwork events are in the pipeline for me, and I look forward to sharing details soon.

Yesterday's Corporate Wellbeing workshop was all about Building Resilience. I'm a firm believer in topping up our resilience account every day. Whether it's through food, being in nature, meeting friends, laughter, breathwork, etc, we need to see this as an essential and not just fit it in when we can.

Building resilience levels allows us to cope better when life throws challenges or setbacks our way. It also enables us to respond to situations rather than reacting to them. We go with the flow of life more and see setbacks as opportunities for growth. Resilience is our ability to bounce back when we face challenges or adversity - it's our bounce back-ability

How do you support your physical, mental, spiritual and emotional resilience?

It's so great to see businesses taking care of their staff and providing wellbeing days to support employees. Last week, I spent a full day in Dublin running Body Composition Testing (BCT) analysis followed by a Diabetes information workshop. These days are a great check-in opportunity for staff to come together and learn about the wonderful impact that nutrition and lifestyle medicine can have on their wellbeing.

As always, we keep the events interactive and informative, yet lots of fun. Great to see people returning for a 4th time to check their BCT analysis and see their health stats improving.

I regularly work with pain management groups throughout Northern Ireland. Many of the diagnosed conditions are also associated with feelings of low mood, no motivation, depression and anxiety. We can do so much to support ourselves using food.

Each person is an individual with completely different physiological makeup, home environment, work life, financial status, emotional past etc etc... so we need to look at people in a more personalised way, taking into account all the different variations in their lives. As long as we continue to attempt to treat everyone exactly the same, we are doing people a real dis-service.

In my workshop, I place a BIG emphasis on really getting to know and befriend your body. Really listening to what it is saying and communicating to you daily. How do particular foods make you feel (even if you have been told they are really good for you 😉). We need to start listening closely to our bodies and how they communicate with us in response to foods. And, most importantly,I encourage people to TRUST what they are feeling in their bodies and not dismiss these symptoms. We have so much internal power in relation to our health, so let's get used to harnessing and using that power in the foods we choose to eat.

This is the most powerful step you will ever take in relation to your health....TRUSTING YOUR BODY'S SIGNALS

Up to 82% of people have experienced Imposter Syndrome in their lifetime. I know I certainly have on many occasions and still do. Have you experienced this in your own work, and how have you dealt with it?

The impact of this syndrome can be increased anxiety and depression and, when left unsupported, can lead to burnout and exhaustion.

I would love to hear your stories around this topic.

Delighted to be back working with breathwork clients on a 1-to-1 basis. These sessions are so special and very powerful. People come for many reasons such as anxiety, sleep issues, low mood, and digestive issues, and sometimes they end up at my door with no idea of why they are here, they just know breathwork is what they are drawn to.

Maybe you have thought about trying a 1-to-1 session but are not sure. Why not send me a DM, and I can organise a quick chat to explain how it will work.

Good Food Nutrition

I work with women who want to take back control of their body and health, lose those stubborn extra pounds, enjoy increased energy and better sleep and feel more energetic every day even when lack of time, motivation or old habits seem to stop them reaching their health goals. For many women, their hormones cause havoc when they out of balance. This is where I help using nutrition and lifestyle recommendations to help you feel more balanced and healthier. As a result, my clients enjoy long term weight loss without ever again dieting, feel less stressed, more alive and happier than they have felt in years and, best of all, feel fitter and more energetic to take whatever life throws at them.

Does any of this sound like you right now? Have you fallen out of love with your body? Is weight gain affecting your self-confidence? Would you like to feel more energetic, happier and fabulous every day even when you are short of time, focus and motivation? Perhaps daily stress and bad eating habits are sabotaging your weight loss goals. Maybe you feel that your hormones are taking over your body - and not in a good way. Imagine having lots more energy and better work/life balance every day. Perhaps you just long for a good night’s sleep and wake up feeling full of energy. Are you totally confused by all the “healthy eating” information out there? If any of the above sounds familiar then it’s time to get your ZING back, love life and feel fabulous again.
