Annabel’s enthusiastic, inclusive, kind and caring approach to everyone was wonderful to receive as a new mum.
My daughter loved these sessions as did I. Not only did we both learn something but we developed our bond even more. Our communication now is so strong because she is able to give us an insight into her world by using sign.
What really sets these sessions with Annabel aside is the social aspect. Not only has my daughter made great little friends (a lot of which she is now at nursery with) but so have I. This has given me a wonderful support network when going through the ups and downs on parenthood.
We miss these sessions hugely as sadly maternity leave has finished but we continue to use our sign and maintain contact with the wonderful people we have met along the way.

👂Hearing about lots of cases of chicken pox at the moment?

How to treat chickenpox:
❌For the fever and flu-like symptoms DO NOT under any circumstances, give a baby or child with chickenpox ibuprofen as it can cause serious skin infections. Stick to paracetamol.

💊There are a number of over the counter products and also make at home remedies to relieve the itching – speak to your pharmacist for more information and guidance on suitability for your child.

🌡️ Monitor your child’s temperature. Keep your child cool in loose cotton clothing or bare skin and keep them hydrated with water.

🛀 Cool baths or showers are soothing. You can add 2 big spoons of bicarbonate of soda to further relieve the itching. Following a bath, make sure you pat skin dry, don't rub, and let hair dry naturally to avoid irritating the scalp with hairdryers.

🚰Make sure you keep your child well hydrated.

🧦 Cut your child's nails and put socks on your child's hands at night to avoid further irritation to your child's skin from scratching.

🧑‍⚕️ Your GP can offer advice, speak to them on the phone or you can even send them pictures, however if you don't feel a phone appointment is sufficient, ask your surgery for an end of the day appointment so you don't risk infecting others.

❌Avoid contact with those who are pregnant, newborn babies and those who have a weakened immune system.

🏫 Children should stay off nursery/child care until the spots have crusted over. It is worth checking your child carers' policy.

🚨If you are in any way concerned about your baby or child’s condition, call 111 for advice or call 999 for an emergency.

£25 mini family photoshoots - perfect for Christmas gifts!

The mini shoots I hold at The Mothership Family Hub each month for £25 are a great way to get lovely family photos ready to frame and give to grandparents as Christmas gifts.

Every year, these mini sessions sell out, usually before the end of September. And over the summer hols, nearly half of them have been booked already!

This is how many I have left for each date:

Sat 27th September - 4 spaces (5 gone)
Sat 25th October - 4 spaces left (5 gone)
Friday 21st November - 5 spaces (4 gone)
Friday 28th November - 6 spaces (3 gone)
Sat 29th November - 6 spaces (3 gone)
Sat 6th December - 4 spaces (5 gone)

(Spaces correct at time of posting, this can change as more people book)

SO WHAT ARE THEY?

20 minute mini family Photoshoots for £25. Plus you get one digital image of your choice to keep and print as many times you you like included (which you choose from an online gallery, check out my reels for an example).

If you like more than one image, you can order prints from only £3.50 each (or digitals only £10-20 each depending on how many you buy).

The sessions leading up to Xmas are like my usual Mothership Mini Sessions, done on a plain white backdrop.

The reason for this is because I feel it’s important to have images you can use ALL year round, and a simple white backdrop means we can get a good variety in the short 20 minutes that we’ve got to play with, so we don’t just do Christmas pics, but regular family pics, all in the same session.

You are very much encouraged to come along with Christmas accessories (and I have baby sizes Santa hats too!). I feel it’s better to get a mix of regular images and Xmassy ones, so you get the best of both worlds. So please do bring along an Xmas jumper to pop on for a few pictures if you want to (but be sure to wear something underneath so a few pics too). You can see some examples from previous year’s minis in this post.

Or feel free to drop me a DM or comment below for me to send you a booking link. Easy peasy. Then just show up on the day for your timeslot, ready to roll.

✨ Back to the start…

5 years ago today, bang in the middle of Covid, I signed the contract and was handed the keys to Room 6 at

It has been the most incredible journey alongside the most awe-inspiring people.

20th October will officially mark our 5th birthday, the day the doors opened to the first of hundreds… and we have so much planned to celebrate! 🍾
