Wow, another year complete!
Thank you to The Great West Run for having WMS provide the medical provisions for Devon’s biggest run! 🏃‍♀️ 🏃🏻 🏃🏽‍♂️
There was a Half Marathon, Community Mile and 10k on a very warm day 🌞
So, for this event we provided:
Multi-level command structure
Consultant led medical centre
Dual control team & Tactical Commander
6 Ambulance crews
4 RRVs
2 CRU
5 FA points
Finish line team
Race village team

69 members of staff including doctor, specialist paramedics, nurses, technicians and more!
This event was a true demonstration on what can happen when a community comes together.

Western Medical Services worked closely with South Western Ambulance Service to ensure this event had no impact on our local statutory service. Thanks to our committed, talented and enthusiastic team, we could make that a reality. Westerners really are a force to be reckon with.
Can’t thank the team at GWR enough, they do a fantastic job of looking after, not only, all of you in attendance but us as a medical provider.

If anything was going to test the professionalism, commitment and endurance of the team here at Western Medical Services, it was this week.
IT’S BEEN MENTAL, in all the best possible ways.
Both our ambulance provisions and events teams have really pulled it out the bag. Once again delivering a service where high quality patient centred care is at the core.
The busiest we have ever been and the strongest we have ever felt 💪🏼

Well done team. We have just nailed the busiest week in WMS history.
Thank you all and thank you to all the external agencies we have worked alongside.

We are on the hunt for Ambulance Care Assistants to join our team this May.
We are recruiting Independent Contractors to help with our busy schedule and have 3 remaining spaces on this months training.

FREC 3 is a nationally recognised qualification and the first step into the world of ambulance services, event medical cover and pre-hospital emergency care.
Over five practical and engaging days you’ll learn the skills needed to respond confidently to medical and trauma emergencies.

🩺 During the course you’ll learn:
✔ Patient assessment using the ABCDE approach
✔ CPR and AED use
✔ Management of trauma and catastrophic bleeding
✔ Airway management and oxygen therapy
✔ Responding to medical emergencies
✔ Working through realistic emergency scenarios

⭐ What makes this course different?
Successful completion of the course will allow you to join our pool of Independent Contractors, supporting Western Medical Services across:

🚑 Ambulance Provisions

🏥 Patient Transport & Welfare Operations

Today we had the pleasure of meeting with students of the University of Plymouth to discuss the opportunities available here at Western Medical Services.

We are still in awe of how many of our team showed up in support today. That has always been the WMS way! It was a great chance for the upcoming workforce to hear about the roles from those who actually do them.

A lot of heart went into this display too, from the photographs and leaflets to the handmade sign created by one of our wonderful employees. All around, it really showed off what a team we have.

Thank you for having us, University of Plymouth.
It was a great opportunity to speak with so many aspiring individuals and to be part of today’s Frontline Features conference event!

Following providing ad-hoc support throughout this season, Western Medical Services has formalised a contracted partnership with Bath Rugby through to 2029.

Western Medical Services will continue to provide Pitchside and Crowd Medical cover at The Rec, supporting players, staff, and spectators across all fixtures.

This reflects the consistent standard delivered by our clinical and operational teams, and the strength of the working relationship developed over time.

We look forward to continuing our support in the seasons ahead.
