On Monday evening, our team linked arms with newton_abbot_fire_station for their weekly training session, and what a night it was.
We provided two live casualties as part of a five-casualty scenario, creating a powerful and realistic multi-agency training exercise. WMS were first on scene, quickly assessing patient conditions and taking in the full scale of the incident. With both Fire and Medical incident commanders in place, communication was seamless and the response was immediate.
The scenario was a serious road traffic collision involving three vehicles, three fatalities and two live casualties requiring careful extrication and rapid, lifesaving treatment. It was intense, challenging and incredibly valuable for everyone involved.
We are immensely proud of our team and the outstanding fire service we are fortunate to have right on our doorstep. Training together like this gives us vital insight into how major incidents are managed and shows just how effectively the emergency services come together to achieve the very best outcomes.
A huge thank you to Newton Abbot Fire Station for having us, and to our crews for fully committing to the exercise and delivering such a professional performance.
