Another beautiful morning... what a great day for sandwiches in the garden (as one of our volunteers was planning to do on Wednesday after their shift at the food bank!).

In case you've missed it, we've still got bread left over and we'd love to bless people with it so come and visit us between 10am and 1pm today with a bag (or two) and take your pick.

We've got a huge amount of bread that has been dropped off by Rotary Newton Abbot after their pop up market. If anyone would like to come and collect some tomorrow, visit us between 10am and 1pm at our shop in Buckland. Please bring your own bags with you.

It's a free to download app for your smartphone which will let you know our latest wish list as it pulls the information directly from our website. All you have to do is select us as your local food bank.

You can also set up notifications to be notified when you are near one of our donation points. It couldn't be simpler!

If you're able to donate anything to us at the moment, we'd be grateful for donations of any of the following things. We know things are tough for lots of people at the moment, but any and all donations make a huge difference to our work in supporting residents across the Teignbridge District.

We have a number of collection points across Newton Abbot or you can drop them off directly to us at our shop in Buckland.

For a lot of our clients it can be a struggle to afford all of the essentials, not just food. And being able to look (and smell!) your best is important, particularly if you're already feeling low and worrying about money.

That's why we try to provide toiletry and cleaning packs for those who need them, and there are a number of items that we are short of at the moment (see below).

Here at the Foodbank, we use a lot of bags every week for packing food parcels and transporting stock from our collection points. We are always in need of good, strong, clean carrier bags and shopping bags (the bags for life from Aldi and Lidl are ideal!).

If you have some bags that you're not sure what to do with (and let's face it, most of us do!), please drop them off to one of our collection points or to the Foodbank itself on Buckland. We can always find a use for them.

We're very grateful to have been chosen as Devon County Football Association's charity in the south of the county to benefit from their Easter Egg appeal for 2026.

If you're able to donate an Easter Egg to their appeal by Friday 20th March, they will deliver the eggs to us the following week.

We know that sometimes it can be tricky to remember to donate to the Foodbank when you're out shopping, especially if you have the kids in tow!

By supporting us financially, you can help the Foodbank out without having to leave the house. Giving financially means that we can budget better for the year ahead, whilst also allowing us to buy the stock we need for our food parcels, hygiene and cleaning packs and home start packs.

We'd like to say a massive thank you to the members of the Haldon Hill Harriers for their incredible donation which was delivered to the food bank last Wednesday.

All of the items donated will support us to deliver our goal in supporting local families and individuals in need.

Are you passionate about assisting those who are struggling financially and the homeless and supporting them by providing essential items such as food and toiletries?

If so, you may be just who we're looking for to join our trustee board. We're looking for a brand new trustee to join our existing board to assist with leading and steering the charity to fulfil its aims.
The role is voluntary and unpaid, with flexible hours and may involve evening and weekend attendance at events and meetings. It also may involve travel and working from home.
