🌟 We Are Hiring 🌟

📝 Driver/Bearer
📍 Pidgen & Son Funeral Service, Torpoint
🕛 Casual hours
💷 £12.71 per hour

Pidgen & Son was established at Trevol Business Park in 1990, having originally been founded by Francis Pidgen in 1946. In 2003, David Pidgen entrusted his business to Walter C. Parson, a seventh-generation family run company originating from Stoke Climsland, Cornwall. We strive to deliver a first class service, one which would only be acceptable to a member of our own family.

Due to retirement, we are seeking individuals to join our team of Driver/Bearers. The roles will be primarily based at our Torpoint office but may also cover Funerals across Plymouth and the wider South East Cornwall area. Due to the nature of our work we need a team that are flexible in working hours and location. This role is being offered on a casual basis with there being greater demand at certain times of the year. The position will provide a great opportunity to explore a new career in Funeral Services, or may suit someone looking for a few hours with no guaranteed commitment or additional hours to supplement another income.

Please note that whilst mechanical means are used as much as possible there are occasions where lifting and carrying heavy weights are part of the role. Manual handling training is provided and the company takes their responsibility seriously; however, applicants must be able to carry out the full duties of the role.

Our ideal person will be well presented, have excellent customer service skills, good manners and won’t mind being outside in all weathers. A full clean driving licence is also a must and living within Torpoint or the surrounding area would be preferable.

For further information please visit www.wcpltd.com/jobs for an application form and detailed job description. Completed application forms should be returned through the website above by 4pm on Wednesday 6th May 2026, however applications will be reviewed as soon as we receive them.
