Think you’re getting enough fibre? Think again.

Most people in the UK aren’t even hitting half of the recommended 30g a day.

This is an example day hitting nearly 45g of fibre, while still being balanced, filling, and high in protein.

Need to boost your intake? Here’s some tips:
👉🏼Swap white carbs for wholegrain versions
👉🏼Add beans or lentils to meals wherever you can
👉🏼Snack on fruit, nuts, or seeds
👉🏼Throw an extra portion of veg onto your plate (or into smoothies)
👉🏼Don’t forget high-fibre staples like oats and chia seeds

Progress is messy, uneven and often unpredictable.

When people start a fitness journey, they tend to imagine a clean, upward path. You eat well, train consistently and results steadily follow, right? In reality, it looks more like a windy road.

You might have weeks where everything clicks. Your workouts feel strong, energy is high and you see visible progress. Then suddenly, you hit a plateau, get sick, lose motivation, or life simply gets in the way.

That doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re human.

Physical health is influenced by dozens of factors: sleep, stress, hormones, work, relationships, even the weather. So your performance and results naturally fluctuate.

You might gain strength but not lose weight. You might feel mentally better before you look different. Sometimes progress is happening beneath the surface long before it shows externally.

The key is zooming out. If you only judge your journey day by day, it feels chaotic. But over months or years, that jagged path often trends upward. Consistency doesn’t mean perfection; it means returning to your habits after the dips.

Movement is therapy 😌🧘🏼

For me, it isn’t about burning calories or chasing a smaller body. It’s about clearing my head, getting outside, moving my body and feeling alive.

Some days I run.
Some days I lift weights (and get jumped on by my dogs)
Some days I get outside for a walk.
Some days I do all 3.

We spend so much time being told exercise should make us thinner. But what if we shifted the focus?

Move for your mind.
Move for the fresh air.
Move for the energy.
Move because your body can.

The irony is that when you stop obsessing over shrinking yourself and start focusing on living, moving and feeling good, everything else tends to fall into place.

Movement isn’t punishment for something you ate. It’s therapy. Go treat yourself to some! 🏃🏽‍♀️🏋🏼‍♀️🧘🏼🏊🏽

Therapy looks different for everyone.

For me, it’s movement I enjoy, good food that actually fuels me, time outside and walks with my dogs.

As a PT, I see daily how powerful these basics are! Not just for physical health, but for mood, energy, resilience, and long-term consistency.

Going into the new year, I knew it was time for a refresh so it was time for some new kit, a freshened-up space and even more thought put into the overall experience. It may be small, but it’s mighty💪🏽

2025 was a rough year for me. Movement, training and nutrition weren’t always top priority, and honestly that’s just life.

The one thing that kept me sane? Getting outside. I may have dogs and therefore have no choice, but the truth is being outdoors has a way of calming your nervous system and lowering stress like nothing else.

So however your 2026 has started, get outside more. Rain, cold, dark… it doesn’t matter. Go anyway. Set yourself a goal to get outside every single day, even if it’s just for 10 minutes. You’ll feel ten times better for it, and when you feel better, those goals suddenly feel a lot more achievable 😉 #2026
