Happy Monday everybody! 💜

For security reasons… we unfortunately cannot share the big news just yet. All we can say is WATCH THIS SPACE because we are VERY excited!! 👀✨

This morning, Charlotte and Lauren treated Mr T to a luxury foot pamper. His feet were washed, his feathers trimmed and he is now officially the cleanest horse in the county. He could walk the red carpet and leave absolutely no evidence behind 🐎✨

Cooking school kicked off the week keeping things simple but tasty with toasties, chips and salad for dinner. Top effort from everyone involved, plates were definitely cleared! 👏🥪🍟

This afternoon we had an important session on internet safety. We talked about keeping accounts private, how the internet can be helpful but also risky, and what to do if something does not feel right. Lots of great discussions and learning all round 💻🔒

🎉 Happy Friday everybody!! 🎉

What a fantastic day we’ve had at the Brafferton site. There’s been lots of top-secret, behind-the-scenes magic happening today… and it all kicks off Monday 👀✨ so stay tuned!!

We got stuck into decorating yesterday’s cakes. The chocolate cake was fully drowned in chocolate icing (as it should be 😋) and the fairy cakes were given the royal treatment with royal icing. Let’s just say… the results were deliciously impressive!

Over in cooking school, the gang whipped up pasta carbonara with a fresh salad. Serious chef vibes today 🍝👏 well done everyone!

We also enjoyed a research session all about birds, as it’s Birdwatching Month with the RSPB 🐦🔍. We learned about different bird species, their habitats, and why birdwatching is so important. Lots of great discussions and curiosity all round!

This afternoon we turned the volume up for our music session. We warmed up with some body percussion to our favourite songs (who knew knees and claps could sound so good?!) and then Danny played the guitar while Emma sang, giving us an amazing live performance 🎸🎤⭐ absolutely brilliant, well done to you both!

Happy Thursday everyone 😄🐴🍰

What a day we have had at Five Acres. We kicked the morning off with mucking out, then a visit from the vet for the one and only Mr T. He was very well behaved and soaking up the attention as always.

Next stop, Tesco. Baking supplies were needed and let’s just say the baking aisle knew we were coming.

Back at base, we got creative doing our recipe cards ready for baking. Then Cooking School absolutely smashed it with a mince dinner and Yorkshire puddings. Proper comfort food and very tasty.

This afternoon it was time to roll our sleeves up and get competitive. Bake Off vibes were strong. One team made brownies, one team made fairy cakes and the third team baked chocolate cupcakes. The effort, teamwork and concentration was brilliant. We cannot wait to decorate them tomorrow, if they survive the night.

Happy Wednesday everyone 😄

We kicked off the day with a proper muck out, shovels moving, stables sparkling and haynets refilled like a well oiled farm machine. Clean, cosy and animal approved ✔️

Cooking School were busy working their magic and served up jacket potatoes with cheese and beans. Simple, classic and absolutely demolished in minutes 🥔🧀

This afternoon we had a visit from the lovely Jess from Bishop Line Community Rail Partnership and jumped aboard workshop 1 of the Try the Train programme, funded by Northern Trains 🚆

We chatted all things trains, from finding your way around stations and booking tickets, to tackling those big worries like busy platforms and delayed trains. Spoiler alert, everyone smashed it 💪

We even planned our very own rail adventure for next week, complete with train times and counting station stops like pros. Confidence levels officially rising ⬆️

Huge thank you to Jess for a brilliant, fun filled session. Next stop… the train journey 😆

🎉 HAPPY TUESDAY, YOU BEAUTIFUL BUNCH! 🎉

What a day. What. A. Day.

This morning we were up bright and early spending time with the animals, doing stalls, mucking out, and having a good old tidy-up. Glamorous? No. Smelly? Maybe. Worth it? Absolutely 🐓🐑💩✨

🍛 Cooking School went FULL MasterChef mode – chicken tikka or chicken korma with basmati rice and naan bread. The kitchen survived, everyone was fed, and nobody set the fire alarm off… a huge win! Well done team 👏🔥

🚆 This afternoon we cracked on with more research and designing for our model railway. Big brains, big ideas, and trains that will definitely be cooler than the real ones. Watch this space 😎

To finish the day, we headed out for a walk and then unleashed ourselves onto Just Dance. Some elite moves, some… interesting choices, and a lot of laughing. Judges gave it 10s across the board 🕺💃🤣

What a fantastic day we’ve had!!

We kicked off the morning with a big muck out – stables sparkling, fresh sawdust down, goats fed and watered, stable block scrubbed up lovely and haynets refilled. Proper graft… and we smashed it 💪🐐🐴

🍽️ Cooking School whipped up some absolute belters – toasties with fries and salad… chef’s kiss 🤌 Delicious doesn’t even cover it!!

🎤 To finish the day, we turned the volume up with a karaoke session – singing, laughing and plenty of star performances (some better than others 😉).

What a brilliant start to the week!!

Happy Friday everybody 🎉

We have had a jam-packed, feel-good Friday here at Five Acres!

This morning we turned into bird experts and researched all about canaries and how to care for them. Could we be welcoming a new feathered friend to Five Acres? 👀 Watch this space!

Sam got super creative on the laptop, doing his own research and designing a brilliant poster all by himself. Top effort Sam, we are very proud of you 👏

Over in cooking school, things got tasty! The team made chicken burgers and let’s just say they went down an absolute treat 🍔 Not many leftovers to report!

This afternoon we turned the music up and the worries down with some Just Dance. There were some impressive moves, plenty of laughs, and maybe a few sore legs for tomorrow!

To finish off the week, we headed out to tend to the animals, making sure everyone was fed, happy, and ready for the weekend.

HAPPY THURSDAY EVERYBODY!! 🎉🎉

What a BRILLIANT, BUSY, FULL-ON FUN day at Five Acres 🌿✨

We made the most of the great outdoors with a lovely walk, soaking up the fresh air, then rolled our sleeves up and got stuck into mucking out the animals. Not glamorous… but VERY important (and we smashed it 💪😂)

Cooking School absolutely outdid themselves! Jacket potatoes, quiche, salad AND coleslaw. MasterChef better watch out because it smelled unreal 🤤🔥

Mr T & Bailey enjoyed a VIP visit from the farrier. Fresh hooves, feeling fabulous, living their best horse lives 🐎✨

AND… the moment you’ve all been waiting for… JOKES WITH JOE IS OUT NOW!! 🎤🤣 Go check it out and prepare to laugh!

Happy Wednesday everybody 😄🌿

Another absolutely cracking day at the farm

All the animals are mucked out, fed and very happy (no complaints were formally submitted 🐑🐄)

Stevie smashed it with the sweeping today – floors so clean you could eat your dinner off them… although we didn’t 😆🧹

Cooking School was on fire 🔥
We made ham, mushroom and pepper carbonara with garlic bread, followed by homemade chocolate sponge and custard… or yoghurt for those pretending to be healthy 🍫🍪

This afternoon our wonderful volunteer Wendy joined us and helped us start designing our very own model railway – excitement levels officially through the roof 🚂✨

Even better news… the sheep are back with a ZERO worm count 🪱👏
Well done guys, clearly all those good vibes and great care are paying off
