🌟 Win of the Week 🌟

A family reached out to us after their request for an EHCP assessment was declined by the Local Authority. They were understandably exhausted and unsure of what more they could do to make their child’s needs truly heard.

We took time to understand their child as a whole, their strengths, challenges, and what helps them feel safe and supported. After reviewing all the reports and evidence, we created a comprehensive, compassionate, and legally robust position statement that clearly set out why an assessment was not only appropriate, but necessary.

💥 Within just two hours of receiving our submission and before mediation even took place, the Local Authority overturned their decision and agreed to assess.

This swift outcome shows the power of clear, evidence-based advocacy and what can happen when a child’s story is told with both heart and legal precision.

Every neurodivergent young person deserves to be understood and supported. If you’re facing a similar situation, you don’t have to face it alone, we’re here to help.

✨ Case Study: Austin's Journey ✨

Before I found SENse Support, I was at breaking point.
My son is autistic, with sensory processing differences, extreme anxiety, and situational mutism, especially in school, where he completely masked his struggles.

At school, he wouldn’t eat, and at home he often found it hard to eat too. He lived with constant worry, about fire alarms, the weather, even fears that I might die. His anxiety was overwhelming, and daily life became incredibly hard for him and for us as a family. At his lowest point, he isolated himself from friends and even put himself at risk. We had to call the crisis team more than once.

Despite this, school insisted he was “fine.” They downplayed everything, made me feel like I was the problem, and ignored the reality of what was happening behind closed doors. I felt helpless, exhausted, and close to giving up.

💜 Then someone recommended SENse Support.

From the very first conversation, I felt heard. They listened without judgment, read through all the evidence, and reassured me: “Yes, this is absolutely worth fighting for.”

With their help, I went through the EHCP mediation process, something I could never have managed alone. They wrote a brilliant position statement, guided me step by step, and lifted so much of the weight from my shoulders.

If it hadn’t been for SENse Support, I honestly think I would have given up. Now, my son is finally being understood and supported for who he really is, not just for the mask he shows at school. And I feel confident, informed, and able to breathe again.

👉 To any parent feeling the same: don’t give up. Masking doesn’t mean a child is fine. Your child deserves the right support and you don’t have to fight alone.

🌟 Success Story: Liam’s Journey at The Hub 🌟

When Liam joined us, he had already faced multiple exclusions, broken placements, and years without full-time education. He felt misunderstood, unsafe, and written off by the system.

At The Hub, everything changed. We focused first on building trust, safety, and regulation. With 1:1 teaching from staff who understood his needs, Liam slowly began to believe in himself. Within just three terms, he went from struggling to engage for five minutes… to achieving excellent GCSE passes in English Language & Literature, and Maths as well as qualifications in ASDAN.

But Liam’s story didn’t stop at exam results. With our bespoke mentoring programme and a nurturing community around him, he developed confidence, resilience, and self-belief. He even interviewed for two highly competitive engineering apprenticeships and was offered both. This September, he started a Level 3 Apprenticeship as a Machine Technician and is thriving.

In his own words:

✨ “I started way behind everyone else in my year at school, but I’ve finished ahead of them because of The Hub.”

Liam’s journey shows what’s possible when young people are truly understood, supported, and given the chance to thrive. We are empowering the exceptional every step of the way.

💡 Do you know a child who’s struggling in mainstream school, facing exclusions, or at risk of disengagement? The Hub offers a safe, neuroaffirming environment where every student is valued and supported to succeed.

🌟 Case Study: Leo’s Journey 🌟

“When I first contacted SENse Support, I had just received my son Leo’s Final EHCP. It didn’t reflect his true needs and I felt lost, unsure whether to go to mediation or straight to appeal. Meanwhile, Leo had already been suspended several times due to dysregulated behaviour. He wasn’t being understood or supported, and we feared permanent exclusion.”

That’s when we stepped in. Together with Louisa, we secured a full reassessment of need, leading to a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) assessment. Professionals including an Educational Psychologist, OT, Speech & Language Therapist, and CAMHS all provided vital evidence.

We used this to prepare a strong position statement and argued at mediation for:
✅ Clear and accurate amendments to Section B
✅ Specific, quantified provision in Section F
✅ A specialist placement in Section I

The Local Authority agreed, and within just three months, Leo had a place in a Specialist School.

💬 “Their knowledge, compassion, and tenacity gave us the strength we needed during one of the hardest times of our lives. SENse Support’s involvement was life-changing. Leo is now in a school where he’s understood and thriving.” Louisa, parent

💡 If your child’s EHCP doesn’t reflect their needs, you don’t have to face it alone. We’re here to support you through every step.
