Rose Lodge is a purpose-built care home built in 2003 and then extended in 2004 to incorporate its specialised Dementia unit. Located in Cobblers Lane the home is located less than 2 miles from Newton Aycliffe Town Centre with 7 Sapphire bus stop on Burnhill Way and number 17 bus on Burn Lane. The home is divided into four units, spread over two floors with the Lincoln and Hamilton suites housing 12 rooms for residential dementia residents and the main building caters for residential clients. All units have their own lounge and dining room for residents to relax and enjoy the delicious food cooked onsite in the homes kitchen. There is a coffee shop in the main building with coffee corner and the snug in Lincoln and Hamilton units with complementary tea and coffee available for visitors to the home. All bedrooms are provided fully furnished with en suite facilities and shared bathrooms and shower rooms with the option of personalising your own room with furniture from home and accessories should this be needed. Rose Lodge's full-time activities coordinator provides residents with an extensive programme of activities, entertainment and events as well as trips out of the home to the local P*P groups. Its central location, regular coffee mornings and luncheon clubs, and charity fundraising events mean the home enjoys strong community links. They have a 5-star award in Food Hygiene at the home and believe food is a huge aspect of their care at Rose Lodge and residents enjoy a cooked breakfast, choice of lunch and dinner meals, supper and hospitality trolley with drinks and cakes throughout the day.
