Did you know….

If you are 40 or older and not taking any medicines for high blood pressure, our team will be offering you a free blood pressure test. We have only been offering this for a few weeks but we have identified more than a dozen patients who have uncontrolled high blood pressure who had no idea!

If you are eligible, we will be asking you when you collect your next script so take those additional few minutes - it might just save your life!

We need your help! We heard from a loyal patient yesterday that he had his nomination changed to another pharmacy in the area from us. He didn't understand why this had occurred so phoned us yesterday to ask why! We would like to hear from anybody else that this has happened to so we can understand why this is happening! If anyone knows of this happening, could you please send us a message or send an email to rob.pitt@nhs.net?

As we pull the shutters down for the final time in 2025, I would like to pay tribute to every member of my teams at Neville and Bewick for the dedication, determination and kindness they have showed this year. I could not be prouder to lead our pharmacists, technicians, dispensers, apprentices, delivery drivers and our trainee pharmacist.

I would also like to thank all our customers old and new for the support we have had and the food and gifts we all received at Christmas - THANK YOU ALL!

***NEWSFLASH***

We have (unexpectedly) managed to secure a small number of additional flu vaccines for patients:

1) aged over 50 and in the "at risk" clinical group

2) aged 65 and over

We have been snowed under with demand since we completed our programme so don't hesitate - these won't be around for long! Please like and share this post with any patients who are looking to get protected ASAP!

Have you had your flu vaccination yet? We have been so lucky with the lovely weather recently that it hasn't really felt like Autumn but it's getting colder and cases are through the roof. If you are eligible, please get yourself vaccinated to prevent the risk of catching flu - it can kill!

Another chapter has come to an end for Team Bewick as we say so long, farewell to our pharmacist Alex. She strode through our doors as a work experience student nearly eight years ago and was so impressive we just had to keep her! It has been our privilege to work alongside her during her degree at Sunderland and mentor her through the foundation year with us and watch how she has grown and matured into a phenomenally impressive young lady.

Have you had your flu jab yet? Flu cases are 300% up this year compared to last year. If you haven’t had your flu jab you really should! You do not need an appointment - just drop in, give us a few basic details and we’ll get you protected asap! Flu is absolutely debilitating and can be life threatening - don’t take the risk!
