Today, the Newton House minibus set off on a wonderful all-day adventure to Falkirk — and what a fantastic time we had! 🚐

Our first stop was the Kelpies, where our residents marvelled at the towering 30-metre horse-head sculptures. The sheer scale and beauty of these incredible works of art left everyone amazed — and provided many of a photo opportunity 📸🐴

Next, we headed to the iconic Falkirk Wheel, where we watched this incredible feat of engineering in action. The rotating boat lift fascinated everyone, and the views from the top were simply breathtaking ⚓️⛵️

The sunshine shone down on us all day, making it the perfect weather to enjoy some delicious ice creams together — a sweet treat for a sweet day! 💛🍦

In honour of International Dog Day, we’re rolling out the red carpet for our furry friends with a special Newton Crufts dog show! 🌟

Bring along your four-legged companion and take part in our friendly competition — with prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place! Whether they’re a best trick star or simply the cutest pup in town, we’d love to see them shine.

Today was a truly wonderful day filled with laughter, scenery, and song as we set off on two lovely minibus adventures 🚐

This morning, we took a scenic drive out to the charming town of Helensburgh. The journey itself was a treat, with the stunning Scottish countryside providing a breathtaking backdrop 🌳☀️

In the afternoon, we headed to the Botanic Gardens in Glasgow for a leisurely stroll. We explored the iconic Kibble Palace, filled with exotic plants and beautiful greenery. The surrounding flower beds added a splash of colour and delight to our visit 🌸🌼🌺

A special moment made the day even more memorable — we bumped into residents from another local care home! It turned into a heartwarming gathering, and to everyone’s joy, our very own talented Eileen gave an impromptu performance. Her beautiful singing brought smiles to all who listened 🌟💕

This afternoon, our minibus made its cheerful return to Newton House, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather to welcome it back! With the sun shining over Glasgow, we seized the opportunity to head out and enjoy a lovely outing to the beautiful Pollok Park ☀️

Surrounded by lush greenery and peaceful woodland trails, we drove through the park, soaking in the summer sunshine and seeing the park’s famous Highland coo’s 🐮

Of course, no trip is complete without a treat! We stopped for some delicious refreshments, enjoyed a few laughs, and made some wonderful memories together 🍰🍦

Here’s to more sunny adventures like this! ☀️🐮💚

Our residents were absolutely delighted to welcome back Bunny&Co mobile petting Zoo for a heartwarming visit filled with cuddles, laughter, and lots of smiles 🥰

The mobile zoo brought along a charming array of friendly animals, including fluffy bunnies, clucking chickens, waddling ducks, sweet guinea pigs, and even a tiny yet mighty tortoise 🐇🐣🦆🐢

It was a lovely experience, animal therapy is such a powerful way to brighten the day—and today was no exception ✨

Many of you will remember our beloved therapy dog, Dexter, who brought endless joy and comfort to Newton House during his regular visits 💛

Sadly, back in April, Dexter crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈. Though we were heartbroken to say goodbye, we’re comforted by the many beautiful moments he gave us. He truly was part of our Newton House family, and his legacy lives on in the love he shared with us all. However, in true Dexter fashion, he’s still looking out for us... ❤️

We’re thrilled to welcome Therapet Amber and her owner, Marian, from Canine Concern Scotland, a gorgeous and gentle pooch who has stepped into Dexter’s pawprints. On her very first visit, she was an instant hit — her calm nature, soft coat, and friendly energy lit up the room. Our residents were delighted to meet her, showering her with cuddles (and, of course, a few tasty treats!) ✨

We’re so grateful to Marian to allow Amber to join us, we know Dexter would be proud 🐶💫

Our residents had a fantastic time celebrating Hawaiian Shirt Day with creativity, colour, and lots of laughter! ✨

🎨👕 Using plain shirts and fabric paints, they each designed their very own vibrant Hawaiian shirts — and the results were as unique and joyful as the residents themselves.

From tropical florals to bold patterns bursting with colour, every shirt told a little story of its maker’s personality. It was a beautiful way to express individuality, spark creativity, and bring a little island sunshine into our home. ☀️🌺🌊

🎤✨ On Tuesday, we were thrilled to welcome back the incredibly talented Julie Max to Newton House!

Her return was nothing short of spectacular as she lit up the room with her powerhouse vocals and timeless classics that had everyone singing along 🎶✨

From soulful ballads to upbeat favorites, Julie delivered each song with passion and charm, creating an electric atmosphere that had our residents clapping, smiling, and even dancing in their seats! Her voice truly brought joy and warmth to the afternoon 🥰

Thank you, Ellen Maclellan, for sharing your amazing talent with us once again — we can’t wait to have you back! 💫💃🎶
