Today, our residents had a wonderful time embracing the great outdoors with some refreshing walks through the beautiful surroundings near Newton House 🫶

The weather, although a little cloudy, was perfect stretching our legs, soaking up the fresh air, and enjoying the peaceful scenery 🌳🙌

We also enjoyed spending time in our café where we treated ourselves to delicious coffee and sweet treats. It was the perfect setting for a bit of well-deserved relaxation, catch-ups, and plenty of cheerful conversation. 🥰

Moments like these are not just about getting out and about – they’re about laughter, connection, and making memories together. 💬❤️

Today was a fantastic day at Newton House as our residents proudly took part in the Senior Sporting Games — a wonderful event specially designed for older adults by the incredible team at Erskine Veterans Charity 🫶

With smiles all around and a great sense of team spirit, our residents embraced the friendly competition as they took on a range of fun activities including darts, bowling, basketball, and bean bag toss. Each game brought laughter, excitement, and a few surprise winning shots! 🎯🏀🎳

It was truly heartwarming to see everyone getting involved, cheering each other on, and enjoying the simple joy of play 🥰

A huge thank you to Erskine for organising such an inclusive and uplifting event — we’re already looking forward to the next one! 💜

🚓🚑🚒 Emergency Services Day at Newton House 🚒🚑🚓

On Tuesday 9th September, we’re opening our doors to say a huge thank you to our incredible Emergency Services. 💙

From 10:00am – 5:00pm, all emergency service workers are invited to join us in the Newton House Café for a complimentary tea or coffee and a slice of cake – our small way of showing appreciation for the amazing work you do for our community every single day.

Today was filled with joy, rhythm, and lots of smiling faces here at Newton House! 🎉

This morning kicked off with the soothing sounds of live keyboard music, setting a beautiful and relaxing tone for the day. Residents gathered to enjoy the melodies, some even singing along to their favorite tunes 🎹💕

In the afternoon, the energy turned up a notch as we welcomed the incredibly talented Roland Russell for a live singing performance — and what a show it was! Roland's lovely voice and warm stage presence had everyone clapping, singing, and even dancing along. The area was alive with laughter, music, and pure joy. 🎤💃🕺

It was a day full of wonderful memories, happy hearts, and the kind of moments that make Newton House feel like home. 💖

⚽️💪 This afternoon, Newton House was buzzing with energy as we welcomed back the brilliant Jude from Fit-Baw for another fun-filled session of football fitness!

With his usual enthusiasm and encouragement, Jude had our residents dribbling footballs, aiming for goals, and getting active in the most enjoyable way 💪✨

However, today’s session was a little bittersweet, as Jude shared the news that this would be his final visit. He’s off to pursue an exciting new chapter: beginning his Doctorate in Sports Psychology! 🎓⚽️

We’re incredibly happy to have met Jude and so grateful for the time, care, and energy he’s shared with us. He’s already made a real difference with this being his second session, and he’ll be truly missed by all of us here at Newton House ✨🫶

Best of luck, Jude—you’ll always have a fan club here! 🙌👏

Today, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming back the incredibly talented Sharon Stevens. With her beautiful voice and skilled guitar playing, Sharon filled our home with music, laughter, and pure happiness 🎸🎤

From classic sing-alongs to heartfelt melodies, the sounds of well-loved tunes echoed through every corner of the home. Residents and staff alike couldn’t help but sing, clap, and even dance along—creating moments of connection, joy, and nostalgia 🥰✨

Thank you, Sharon, for sharing your gift with us once again. Your music truly lifted our spirits and brought smiles to every face. We can’t wait to have you back soon! 💕🎸🎤

On Sunday 7th September at 2:30pm, we’re inviting families to join us in our very own Cinema for a special screening of the family-friendly mystical classic “Bridge to Terabithia.” 🍿

With just 15 spaces available, this cosy event is completely free of charge. Refreshments, including drinks and popcorn, will be provided to make it a true cinema experience!

Today at the Newton House we went all out to celebrate our four-legged friends with a special "Newton Crufts" event – and it was paws-itively amazing! 🐾💛

We transformed our garden into a mini obstacle course where our furry attendees had the chance to strut their stuff, leap over hurdles, and race through tunnels 🐕

The star of the show? 🏆
Stanley the Frenchie stole everyone’s hearts – and the spotlight – with his determination, charm, and handsome tuxedo. He conquered the course like a true champ and proudly took home the title of Ultimate Winner of Newton Crufts 2025! 🐶🐾

This weekend, we were incredibly proud to see members of our Newton Family step up for a fantastic cause by taking part in the ‘Beat the Beatson’ 10K walk through the streets of Glasgow’s West End 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💛

Representing our home with heart and determination were:

🥖 Johnathan – our talented Kitchen Assistant and top-notch baker, who brings sweetness to our days

🏠 Janette – our dedicated Lead Homemaker, always putting others first, showed her support in stride

🌟 Kerri – our former Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach, who walked with the same passion she brought to her role

Together, they walked with purpose, raising awareness and support for Beatson Cancer Charity, whose work touches so many lives 🫶

They did a fantastic job, and we couldn’t be more proud! Please join us in giving them the recognition they truly deserve—leave them some love in the comments below 💛👏

Today, our wonderful residents at Newton House made the most of the glorious Glasgow sunshine with a relaxing afternoon in the garden 🪴 ☀️

With the sky clear and the sun beaming down, it was the perfect setting for some well-deserved rest and socialising 💛🥰

Residents gathered in the garden to enjoy cool refreshments, light snacks, and plenty of laughter. It was heartwarming to see everyone soaking up the sunshine, sharing stories, and simply enjoying the moment together ✨🌼
