We can get all types of weather in one day in Newton Mearns, but that doesn't stop us having fun during our walks!

We set off out for a gentle stroll around the local area, getting some fresh air and getting our bodies moving.

Yesterday we had the charming Adam B join us for afternoon sing along. 🎤🎶

He came with instruments, he came with jokes and left so many smiles to our faces by the end of the hour

Easter raffle draw! 5th prize - Morna Ronnie, 4th prize - Theresa Murray, 3rd prize - Barry Thompson, 2nd prize - Ann Griffin and going home with the giant Easter hamper is Jean MacDonald!! Huge congratulations to all the winners and a massive thank you to every single person who bought tickets. We have managed to raise £420 which will be given to Isobel Mair School. They are looking to buy more bikes and trikes for the children. A very worthy cause. 🐰🪺🐣

We had our Art Class this afternoon, and Neil was showing off his skills again with another one of his amazing portraits. This time, he drew one of our resident's Liz.

Liz sat still for about 10 minutes whilst Neil carefully drew her, and Liz was so happy with the result - just in time for her birthday tomorrow!

Happy Easter from Newton House 🐣

We've had a busy day with lots of family visits, activities and fun!

This morning we joined the church service and handed out easter eggs to all our residents.

This afternoon we had live entertainment from Billy Hammond, egg painting, bonnet decorations and easter egg hunt.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the festivities!

Even if it's raining outside, it doesn't stop us from gardening!

This afternoon we made some lovely window boxes, which we will be gifting to some local community organisations.

As our wellbeing assistants weren't too clued up on what we needed for window boxes, resident Betty sent Nicole out with a list of supplies, and instructed Team Newton on how to make them!

Thanks Betty for her leadership, and the rest of the gardening club for their hard work.

Sunday at Newton House means Bingo time!

We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of bingo filled with laughter, friendly competition, and great company. A big congratulations to our fantastic winners! It was lovely to see everyone getting involved and sharing in the fun. 🥇

Our residents have been getting stuck into some gardening workshops — planting some peas, basil and marigold seeds and having a good old chat along the way!
