💭 LETS TALK ABOUT..... FLU 💭
Also known as Influenza.
Flu is more serious than a common cold and can lead to pneumonia, hospitalisation and death, with around 8,000 people dying from flu in England last winter.
The best way to get protected is to have the flu vaccination, this is free for those aged 65 & over, pregnant women, people of any age with underlying medication conditions and front line health & social care workers.
Flu season is at it's peak between the months of October & February, and the vaccination offers is best protection within the first 3 months of being administered, meaning getting the vaccination in October provides you with optimal protection.
Health & Social care workers are more likely to catch & spread flu, meaning it is important to protect those we care and support for, especially as they are at higher risk of complications from flu.
You can arrange your FREE flu vaccination by booking this via the NHS app, dialling 119, or visiting your nearest pharmacy that provide a walk-in service.
