🚗 Driving? There’s convenient parking just across the road at The Parchments, as well as nearby street parking. If you’re lucky, you might grab one of the spaces right outside.

If you’re dropping off someone with limited mobility, you’re welcome to stop directly in front of our gates for easy access.

Why do you feel WORSE 2–3 days after a marathon? 👀

That stiff, heavy, “hit by a bus” feeling on day 3…
It’s real—and it’s backed by evidence.

It’s called Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS), and it typically peaks 24–72 hours after intense exercise.

So even if you felt okay the next day…
👉 Day 2–3 is often when it really hits.

Micro-damage to muscle fibres during the race
