Our Story
Feet First was opened in 2016 to provide podiatry to the people of the Borders.
Podiatrists are health care professionals who have been trained to prevent, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs. We also prevent and correct deformity, keep people mobile and active, relieve pain and treat infections. We can give you and your family advice on how to look after your feet and what type of shoes to wear. We can also treat and alleviate day-to-day foot problems, including, toenail problems, such as thickened, fungal or ingrown toenails, corns and calluses, verrucas, athletes foot, dry cracked heels, flat feet, bunions, heel pain.
People with diabetes must take extra care of their feet. We can help with this by making sure pulses and sensations are in tact, and making sure the lower limbs are in good condition, free of anything that may cause the skin to break down.
