Newtown Breastfeeding Friends Group - Newtown BFG Breastfeeding Support and Social Group in Newtown, Powys

Newtown Breastfeeding Support Group was set up by a team of mums who have all breastfed or are currently breastfeeding their children and are qualified as Breastfeeding Peer Counsellors trained using La Leche League materials. They offer support and information to pregnant ladies, new mums, long-term breastfeeding women or anyone interested in the subject.

A belated happy New Year from Newtown breastfeeding friends group. In 2026 we look forward to welcoming new (and old) members to our peer supporter run group.

We are here to support anyone on their breastfeeding/ chestfeeding journey, whether you’re a new parent just starting out or a parent well established on your feeding journey, we are here for whatever you need.

You don’t need to be facing feeding issues to attend, we can just to be a friendly face even if it’s just for a chat and cuppa.

Our aim is to run a weekly group but as a peer supporter run group it’s not always possible.

We will not be running this week due to work commitments but will be back on Monday 19th 10-11.30.

Groups will run as follows for Jan/feb:

⭐️23rd Feb

Last group of the year today so we just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
Group will be back on the 5th of January, if you need any support over the Christmas period our inbox is always open so please message us for breastfeeding support and one of our supporters will get back to you.

I would also like to take this opportunity to wish the wonderful Faith a happy return to work, we have really loved having you as a key member of our group and we will all miss seeing you and Wren in January ❤️

Monday 15th December will be our last group of 2025 as we take a break over Christmas and new year celebrations before resuming again in 2026.
