Pat McNamee of Crescent Street, Newtown passed away suddenly at his beloved Newtown Football Club on Monday, 4th May 2026 aged 74 years.

Much loved dad of Nicky and Hayley, devoted grandad of Cameron, Lilia, Layla and Theo, loving great grandad of Carter and a dearly loved brother to his twin sister Kath, his brother Kevin and his late brothers, John, Ernie, Clive and Dave.

All are welcome to the funeral service at Emstrey Crematorium, Shrewsbury on Saturday, 13th June at 10.45am.

Family flowers only, donations if desired to The British Heart Foundation or Cancer Research UK.

Lynda Williams (Duckie), of Cambrian Gardens, Newtown passed away in the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on Saturday, 16th May 2026, aged 74 years.

Much loved wife to Chris and a dearly loved sister to Colin.

Funeral service at All Saints Church, Newtown on Monday, 15th June at 1pm, followed by burial in Newtown Cemetery.

Duckie would want people to wear colourful clothing.

Doris Lewis of Dolfor Hall Bungalow passed away peacefully in the Oaks Care Home on Tuesday, 5th May 2026, aged 97 years.

Beloved wife of the late John Thomas, dearly loved mother of Ken, Emrys and Shirley, mother-in-law to Karl, loving granny of Clare, Tracy, Sarah, Alun, Kevin, Natalie and Chloe and a devoted great granny of Scott, Abi, Grace, William, Teleri, Harvey, Milo, Arlo, Elsie, George and Oscar.

A private funeral will take place.

It is with sadness that our family announces the death of Margaret. She died peacefully at home at Llys Glan yr Afon. Newtown, holding the hand of her daughter Sara.

Margaret was formerly a physiotherapist at Newtown Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the former Rector of Newtown Revd Canon Bryan Jones, and lovely Mum to Sara and Richard.

Margaret was a delighted and loving Nain to Alys, Phoebe, Tilly, Freya, Joel and Harvey.

The family would like for ourselves, and at Margaret’s request, to extend our huge gratitude and thanks to the carers who gave her such wonderful care at Llys Glan yr Afon.

Funeral service and interment will take place at Llanllwchaiarn Parish Church on Thursday, 4th June at 1pm.

Margaret gave specific instructions for her funeral asking that “People come in bright clothes and in as cheerful a mood as possible as I have had a wonderful life”.

Donations are to The Children’s Society, and The Leprosy Mission via Leach’s Funeral Directors.

Beloved wife of the late Ron, devoted nan of Dyarne, Lee and Charlene and a much loved great nan and great great nan.

Funeral service at Emstrey Crematorium, Shrewsbury on Tuesday, 2nd June at 11.30am.

Samantha Julie Hawkins (Sam) of Garth Owen, Newtown passed away peacefully in The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on Thursday, 23rd April 2026 aged 58 years.

Much loved mum of Kia and Taya, dearly loved sister to Margaret, Doreen, Michael and the late Delia and a loving aunt.

Funeral service at Hope Church, Newtown on Friday, 29th May at 2pm followed by burial in Newtown Cemetery.

The family request that you wear black with a splash of aqua or turquoise.

Reginald (Reg) Taylor formerly of Newtown and Caersws, passed away peacefully in the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford on Monday, 4th May 2026 aged 91 years.

Beloved husband of the late Doreen and a much loved dad and grandad.
