As many of you are aware, we pick a charity each year to donate to and have a fundraising event . This year our Charity is Air Ambulance, a charity that has helped so many .

Throughout August we will be having our Charity month, Tickets will be available from 1st for our beauty hamper .

✈️ Armed Forces Day 2025 🥁
📅 This Saturday 21 June 2025 | 10:30am - 5pm
📍 Location: Newtownards Airfield / Town Centre Parade

‼️Information for residents, local businesses and mariners.‼️️

Due to the scale of this event, a number of road restrictions, no public access areas and an on Water Exclusion Zone will all be in place Saturday 21 June in Newtownards. Traffic delays in the Newtownards area throughout the day are expected.

👉 Road Restrictions

- Full Road Closure: Portaferry Road (from the Portaferry Road roundabout to the Old Shore Road) will be closed from 8am to 8pm to ensure the safety and integrity of the site.

- Full Road Closure: Extension to above Portaferry Road Closure, extending from Old Shore Road to Finlays Road between 2pm to 3pm. There will be “no through road” at Old Shore Road. During this period pedestrian access on Portaferry Road from Old Shore Road in the direction of Finlay's Road is also prohibited.

- Single Lane Closure: For shuttle bus access on the Portaferry Road between George’s Street and the Portaferry Road roundabout throughout the day.

- Disruption to traffic flows: Potential rolling road closures, during the parade (10.30am for approximately 40 minutes) from Court Street - South Street - High Street - Castle Street - Portaferry Road.

- Diversions and coning: Temporary no-parking zones will be in place in the area throughout the day.

To ensure public safety, extensions to road closures may be required at certain periods throughout the day.

🚫No Public Access Areas

The Floodgates Car Park and the path along the Floodgates to facilitate the event: both closed between 8am and 8pm to ensure public safety during aerial displays.

Londonderry Park will be closed from 3pm on Friday 20 June and all day on Saturday 21 June.

✈️ Red Arrows Display - Exclusion Zones

❌Exclusion Zone
Please note that the exclusion zone for the display extends across the Lough affecting access across and to both sides of the Lough, this means all navigable waters, mudflats, foreshore, extending to adjacent verges, footpaths, and Portaferry Road. No person or vehicle can be within the exclusion zone during the time of closure.

❌ On-Water Exclusion Zone – Red Arrows Air Display
Mariners are advised that, to facilitate an aerial display by the Royal Air Force Red Arrows, an on-water exclusion zone will be established on Strangford Lough in the vicinity of Newtownards Airfield between 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm

During this period, no vessels are permitted to enter the exclusion zone.
