Hi everyone, just a heads up that I am not taking on any new clients at the minute. I am still very much a full time NHS physiotherapist and my availability is limited so I have made this decision to ensure I have spaces for my regular horsey clients 🐎

As a lot of you know, I'm back but with limited availability.
Most spaces will be evening or weekend slots therefore I will be limiting my travel to the North Down/Ards area and priority will be given to existing clients where possible 😊

*Please remember - As a veterinary physiotherapist I can perform routine treatment sessions with the aim of promoting general comfort and performance. However, If u suspect your animal is lame or in pain a veterinary surgeon must always be consulted first.

Hi everyone, as a lot of you know, I'm going to be heading off on maternity leave soon.
I have already stopped taking on new clients and I'm mainly trying to wrap up my review appointments in order to reduce my workload over the next few weeks.
A lot of you are very keen to continue regular routine physio sessions with your animals and I have spoken to a few qualified physios who might be able to help.
Please check out:

Vet Physio NI Jill is mainly clinic based in Larne but may travel if there are a few to see in the area.

Atlantic Veterinary Physiotherapy Lynsey is based in Coleraine but again will travel if there are a few in the area.

Alex Russell Chartered Physio and ACPAT Vet Physio is mainly clinic based in the Killkeel area.

I will update the FB page when I am starting to see my own clients again πŸ™‚

*PRICING AND PAYMENT CHANGES*
During the first half of 2020 I have had time to focus on some important factors influencing my business. I have reorganised my admin, prepped my accounts and updated my paperwork. I have renewed memberships and discussed insurance options. I have also taken the time to reflect and realise how much has changed. Ten years ago I was applying for University (and was very unsure if I would be capable of taking the step to go). Now I'm proud to have achieved a first class honors degree in BSc Physiotherapy, a Post Grad Diploma in Veterinary physiotherapy and two post grad modules in Hippotherapy. I have successfully built my own vet physiotherapy business and I am also a full time human physio in a busy A and E department.
In 2016, when I started Animal Rehab NI, I chose to keep my prices down to allow me to build a good client base. I now have fantastic loyal clients who I am grateful for but I also need to recognise that my ongoing training courses and experience are worth more than my original prices. For anyone booking after 01/08/20 I will be charging Β£40 for previous clients and their review appointments. For any new clients the initial assessment will be Β£50 due to the additional admin time and full subjective background required, then Β£40 for any follow up appointments in the future. This will allow me to continue to train to a high standard and provide evidence based treatment with the appropriate registrations and insurance in place.
All new clients will still be required to have their vet consent to physio prior to their initial assessment.

Hi everyone, just letting you know I'm on the count down to getting the cast off πŸ₯³ I have messaged a few people who were due to be seen before I was injured and had patiently waited throughout the covid peak. To the other people who have messaged me, I will get back to you after my fracture clinic review this Friday, but I'm feeling confident I will manage to get you all seen asap. If anyone else would like their horse seen please drop me a message to be contacted next weekend.
Thank you for your patience πŸ₯΄

To those of you who have been patiently waiting for equine appointments, I'm very sorry to say it will likely be mid July before I'm working again. My plans to start back have been scrapped due to breaking my foot. The Doctors have decided I need to stay in a cast and remain non weight bearing until they review in July.

Hi everyone, sorry for the VERY long winded post but I thought it was time for an update during these crazy times. I haven't been seeing any private clients/horses during the lock down in order to comply with current government recommendations. My registered bodies ACPAT and RAMP have been giving invaluable advice throughout this time and are looking towards developing a guideline for when restrictions are lifted/relaxed. Each veterinary physio will have to risk assess their own situation, likely with distancing and sanitising protocols. I am missing all my clients and I'm looking forward to getting back out... however, as part of my human physio job within a hospital I am required to treat Covid suspected and Covid positive patients. I feel it would be irresponsible to rush back as soon as these restrictions are eased as the risk of me potentially spreading this horrible virus is an ongoing reality, despite all precautions. We may be "past the peak" but Covid is not gone. To my lovely loyal clients, I understand that in some situations physiotherapy is required to keep your animals comfortable and prevent significant pain, in these situations (and with vet consent) physio may be required for the welfare of the horse. If you want to message me I can pass on contact details of other qualified physios within Northern Ireland who may be able to help during this time.

Hi everyone, believe me when I say that I am not a fan of the hospital check in posts or the "u OK hun?" "PM me" replies πŸ˜‚ but I thought I should give a heads-up that I may be out of action for a short time. I got my appendix removed last night and unfortunately my infection levels are staying quite high. I'm going to be in hospital for some IV antibiotics and recoverying from surgery, so I wont be replying to any messages over the next few days.
I'll get back to everyone as soon as I can,
Thanks to those who have helped out over the last few days,

Thank you to everyone who has supported me this year, and a special thank you to those who have patiently waited for me to get back to them with my availability recently! That's the 2019 diary full ❀️ Please send any appointment requests to this page and I will get back to you if I have any cancellations. Any new clients will need to check that their vet is happy to consent to physio assessment and treatment prior to their first appointment as per the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966
