This St. Patrick’s Day, take a moment to look after the most important part of your game…your mind 💚

In sport and in life, we push ourselves to be stronger, faster, better. But real strength also means knowing when to pause, reset, and prioritise your mental health.

Make time for yourself. Check in with your teammates. Start the conversation.

Because your mental health is everything. AND it always matters.

Strength doesn’t always look like winning on a league table. Sometimes strength is about asking for help, checking in on a teammate, or speaking honestly about how you feel.

Mental health challenges aren’t always visible. Many people in sport, athletes, coaches, volunteers, and supporters at your club, may be struggling quietly.
That’s why it’s so important to create a culture where it’s ok to talk and reach out for help.

At SPORTS Mental Health NI, we believe no one in sport should feel alone. A simple conversation, a text message, or taking the time to listen to someone can really make a difference.

Let’s look out for one another, on and off the pitch. Together, we can break the silence and build stronger, healthier supportive sporting communities.

If you’re struggling, please remember: support is out there. You can contact our page and everything will be treated in the strictest confidence.

🌞 Good Morning & Happy Saturday!

A new day is here, and it’s a reminder that strength often grows quietly through the challenges we face.
If this week felt heavy, take a moment to acknowledge how far you’ve already come.

You’ve handled tough days before. You’ve made it through moments you once thought you couldn’t. That resilience is still within you.

Today, give yourself permission to breathe, to rest, to smile, and to move forward at your own pace. Small steps still count. Progress doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.

💛 Be kind to your mind.
💪 Trust your strength.
🌱 Believe in your ability to keep going.

Wishing you a peaceful, positive, and empowering weekend.

Taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body.
Rest when you need to.

Check in on your friends.
Small acts of care can make a big difference.

Let’s break the silence, remove the stigma, and support one another — because strong communities are built on healthy minds. 💬✨

Chairman TJ is attending a funding Fayre in Belfast this morning, kindly organised and hosted by NICVA

There’s plenty of valuable networking to be done, and we’re hopeful this will help open doors and create pathways for future funding; enabling SPORTS to continue delivering impactful projects throughout 2026 and beyond.

All of our Trustees are volunteers, generously giving their time and expertise to support the growth and sustainability of our work for sports clubs and the sporting community.

A fantastic campaign to help raise awareness of Childrens Mental Health Week from our friends at Tamhi Tackling Awareness of Mental Health Issues.
The resources and images produced for clubs are first class. Well done to Joe, Micky and the TAMHI Team.
Also to all the clubs who got involved to make it such a success.

Children’s mental health is everyone’s responsibility.
Parents, carers, teachers, coaches, and communities all play a vital role.
Positive role models, supportive clubs, safe spaces, and strong relationships can make a life-changing difference. When we prioritise children’s mental wellbeing, we are investing in happier childhoods, stronger communities, and healthier futures for all.
Well done everyone 👏 👏
