Due to the July Bank Holidays, the following schedule has been arranged:

👉 Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 July - collections are as normal.
👉 Wednesday 12 - will be collected Thursday 13 July.
👉 Thursday 13 July - will be collected Friday 14 July.

Please make sure your bin/container is set out for collection 𝐛𝐲 𝟕𝐚𝐦 on the appropriate day.

Household Recycling Centres will be closed on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 July 2023

This year the clinic at 38 Manse Road, Glastry, Kircubbin, will be OPEN as usual on Thursday 13th July 2023 between )(:00 a.m. and 08:00 p.m.

Established clients of the practice who wish to have their pet examined by the veterinary surgeon on duty should 'phone the clinic on

to make an appointment.

The first day back at work after any holiday period is always likely to be extra busy so we recommend 'phoning between 09:00 and 10:00 a.m. to avoid possible disappointment

The Strangford Lough Ferry...

Linking the beautiful Ards Peninsula to the scenic Lecale Peninsula and the villages of Strangford and Portaferry, crossing a stretch of water known as the "Narrows".

The Anglo Norman Savage family, established the original ferry in 1188, making it the longest existing ferry service in the world. The powerful current which rushes through The Narrows carries 400 million gallons of water with every tide. It is little wonder the Vikings named the Lough the ‘Strong Fiord’.

With a journey time of around 10 minutes, the ferry crossing can save a 50 mile drive around the Lough and is an exciting experience for young and old as you take in the stunning scenery of this Marine Nature Reserve and try to spot seals, seabirds and jellyfish as the tide rushes past.

The ferry runs at 30 minutes intervals throughout the day, every day, apart from Christmas Day.

💛 TRENT REHOMING APPEAL! 💛
Trent is a wonderful 2yr old Greyhound. Trent, is a beautiful and very friendly big fella. He socialises well here with dogs of all sizes and can live with kids. Best suited to a home with kids 8yrs and over, and probably best suited to a home with no tiny dogs simply due to his size. He loves going for walks, but also loves just chilling out on a cosy bed. He will need some house training initially, as he has never been in a home before. But he is a very chill and clean dog in general. Pudsey has been with us a few months now. He was totally shut down when he arrived and it has taken us a while to bring him round even a little bit.

We feel Pudsey would do better in a home now where he can get constant attention and care and can build up a strong bond with someone.

Pudsey is a very scared boy who hasn't had much socialisation apart from with a couple of our volunteers.

He needs a quiet home with few visitors and no children. He will need lots of time to come round so a few meets will be needed.

Experience of these issues is a must! Please do not apply for Pudsey if you will not have the time and patience to work with him as its just not fair on him.
