We recently completed CCTV upgrade works at the stunning Rooms at Mourne in Newcastle, a beautiful accommodation setting in the heart of the Mournes, perfectly positioned for guests looking for clean, comfortable and hassle-free stays along the coast.

As part of the works, we replaced four CCTV cameras and upgraded the on-site DVR, ensuring the system is reliable, clear and fit for purpose. For accommodation providers, CCTV plays a vital role in protecting guests, staff and property. It provides reassurance for visitors, supports staff safety, and offers valuable oversight of entrances, communal areas and external spaces - all while helping owners respond quickly should any issues arise.

In locations like this, where guests come and go regularly and properties often operate year-round, having a dependable CCTV system is an important part of overall site security. Upgrading older equipment can significantly improve image quality, system reliability and peace of mind.

It was great to be involved in a project at such a well-located and thoughtfully run accommodation, nestled between the Mournes, Murlough Nature Reserve and some fantastic local hospitality.

If you operate accommodation or hospitality premises and aren’t sure if your CCTV system is still doing the job it should, we’re always happy to advise 👇

We’re delighted to welcome Megan to the SR Fire & Security team - our newest Fire & Security Engineer.

Megan brings nine years of industry experience with her and has already settled straight into site life with the team. She credits a great mentor early in her career for shaping her technical skills and work ethic, and it shows in the confidence and capability she brings to every job.

While engineering remains a male-dominated industry, what matters most to us is skill, attitude and commitment – and Megan brings all three in abundance. We’re proud to have her on board and even prouder of the work she represents as our first female engineer.

Outside of work, Megan plays football for Ballymena and rugby for Lisburn – so it’s safe to say she’s no stranger to teamwork, discipline and hard graft.

Welcome to SR, Megan – we’re delighted to have you as part of the team.

As we head into a new year, I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

2025 was a seriously busy one for us at SR Fire & Security. We worked across some brilliant projects, welcomed new clients, continued long-standing relationships, and grew the team along the way. None of that happens without the trust of our customers, so to everyone who picked up the phone, recommended us, or brought us back for repeat work – thank you. It genuinely means a lot.

We’re heading into 2026 with plenty already lined up, and it’s shaping up to be another big year. The focus stays the same: doing the job properly, looking after our clients, and making sure the fire and security systems protecting people and buildings are compliant, reliable, and fit for purpose.

For anyone new here, SR Fire & Security looks after the design, installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of fire alarms, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, emergency lighting and planned preventative maintenance across Northern Ireland. Whether it’s a small local business, a large commercial site or ongoing maintenance across multiple locations, we’ve got you covered.

If you’re heading into the new year and aren’t sure if your systems are up to date, compliant, or simply working as they should be, get in touch. We’re always happy to have a conversation, carry out a site check and give honest advice.

Here’s to another busy year ahead – thanks again for the continued support.

The festive season is a time for celebration, extended holidays and busy social calendars. Unfortunately, it is also one of the busiest periods of the year for theft, vandalism and fire-related incidents. With properties often left unattended and businesses operating on reduced hours, taking a proactive approach to fire and security safety is essential to protect people, assets and premises 👇

We were back on site at Margot, Belfast recently to install two additional CCTV cameras, expanding their existing system to suit the evolving needs of the venue.

One of the key benefits of modern CCTV systems is how flexible they are. As a business grows or layouts change, it’s straightforward to add extra cameras or adjust coverage without the need for a full system replacement. This allows security to evolve alongside the business, ensuring the right areas are always protected as requirements change.

While on site, we couldn’t ignore Margot’s absolutely unreal Christmas tree and festive décor - easily one of the best we’ve seen this season. A great atmosphere, paired with the right security in the background, is exactly how busy hospitality venues should operate during this time of year.

Always a pleasure working with the team at Margot.

We’ve just completed the installation of a single-door access control system at Dirty Harry’s Laundrette in Belfast.

Single-door access control is a simple but effective way for businesses to manage who can enter specific areas of their premises. In settings like this, it helps restrict access to staff-only spaces, improves security, and removes the need for traditional keys, which can be lost, copied, or misused.

Instead, authorised access can be managed through key fobs, keypads or similar credentials, giving business owners greater control and peace of mind, especially during busy operating hours.

It’s great to support local Belfast businesses with practical security solutions that fit their day-to-day operations.

We were delighted to be back on site with Boojum , this time carrying out the supply and upgrade of their CCTV system.

As a long-standing client, Boojum continues to trust us to keep their restaurants secure, and it's always great to support their team with reliable systems that protect staff, customers, and premises.

Upgrading CCTV isn’t just about clearer images, it’s about:

• Improved visibility across key areas
• Smarter, more efficient monitoring
• Enhanced safety for high-footfall environments

We’re proud to continue working with such a well-loved local brand and look forward to supporting future projects across their locations. If you need to upgrade your CCTV, or if you need a quote for installation, contact us today 👇

If you’re an M&E designer, main contractor, or part of a design & build team, you’ll already know how many moving parts go into a modern commercial building. But one area that still causes unnecessary complexity — and unnecessary cost — is splitting fire and security systems into separate, disconnected packages.

While many providers still list each system individually, the reality on today’s projects is simple:

Integration matters.
It streamlines installation, improves safety and security, reduces maintenance, and makes life easier for the end user.

Here’s what contractors need to know when planning integrated fire & security systems 👇

A practical guide for contractors on designing integrated fire, intruder, CCTV and access control systems for modern commercial buildings.

We were delighted to work with Rituals Cosmetics once again, supporting the fit-out of their new store in Sligo. Our team delivered a full fire alarm installation, ensuring the system was designed, installed, and commissioned to the highest standard and ready for a smooth handover.

Projects like this highlight the value of strong contractor relationships. A big thank you to Temple Electrical for trusting us with this work - it’s always a pleasure to collaborate and bring another quality store safely over the line.
