Make sure you order any repeat prescription medication in good time and check local pharmacy opening hours ahead of the Easter bank holiday weekend.
Many pharmacies will have revised opening times over the long weekend, so people are encouraged to plan ahead and make sure they have enough essential medication.
A full list of pharmacies that will be open during the bank holiday across Hampshire (including Southampton and Portsmouth), as well as the Isle of Wight, has been published by NHS England. Opening hours may vary, so it’s recommended to check your local pharmacy before visiting.
Our Chief Pharmacist, Neil Hardy, said: “We want everyone to have a happy and healthy Easter weekend, and a bit of planning now can help avoid unnecessary stress later. Ordering repeat prescriptions in advance and checking pharmacy opening times means people can enjoy the long weekend with peace of mind.
“Pharmacies are also a great place to get advice if you’re feeling unwell. Pharmacists are highly skilled healthcare professionals who can help with a range of minor illnesses and offer advice on the best treatment, often without the need for an appointment.”
If you do run out of prescribed medication, you can request an emergency prescription online via 111. You can also contact your local community pharmacy for advice.
