Good morning 🌅

Sunday is a great day to set positive intentions for the week ahead 💫

I like to spend a few moments on a Sunday thinking about how my week has been, what made me feel happy and energised, what made me feel sad or frustrated and how do I feel in my mind and body?

After reflecting on my past week I then think about what I want more of and what I want less of? I then set my intentions for the coming week ♥️

Here are my tips for setting your intentions;

♥️ Keep It Simple
• Choose one to three clear intentions instead of a long list.
• Example: “Move my body daily,” “Drink two litres of water daily’’, “Finish module 3 of my studies and submit for marking’’ or ‘Stay present in conversations’’

♥️ Write Them Down
• Put them where you’ll see them: journal, planner, sticky note, or set a phone reminder.

♥️ Connect to a Feeling
• Ask yourself: How do I want to feel by Friday? (grounded, productive, balanced, happy etc).

♥️ Revisit and Adjust
• Midweek, check in: Am I living my intentions?

Thoughts from my walk today 👣

During my post operation recovery I have been thinking a lot about how much we expect of ourselves and how much we think we should be the same all day, every day.

We live in this world that we have made very linear, we think we should be the same all day, every day. We think that everything should be the same all day, every day, and when its not we get upset and anxious and try to micromanage it (I am guilty of this myself).

A tree in the field reflects the nature of life. It stands bare in winter, renews in spring, thrives in summer, and releases in autumn. It does not resist change but accepts each season as part of its being.

It is the same for us, we move through cycles of growth, release, rest, and renewal. We ourselves are not linear and that is ok!🩷

By trusting life’s seasons, we can release fear of change and find peace in the present, knowing that even in stillness, a new beginning is already on its way.

On the last day of August find all the things to be grateful for in the month just gone ♥️

A few of mine are;

✔️ More time to spend with my daughter
✔️ A beautiful sunny holiday
✔️ Time with my incredible friends
✔️ Lazy mornings
✔️ Delicious food
✔️ The opportunity to move my body in a variety of ways (walking, running, spinning, weightlifting, pilates, swimming and paddle boarding)
✔️ The opportunity to stop and reflect following my emergency surgery at the beginning of the week - it’s really given me space to reflect and think, an opportunity I would not have had otherwise. (Every cloud and all that!…)

Well this wasn’t what I had in mind for the end of summer!

I spent a few days in hospital following emergency surgery at the end of last week, I am now very grateful to be home and recovering ❤️‍🩹

But it got me thinking about how many changes I will have to make and accept during the next few weeks. No driving, no weightlifting and no running. I have had to withdraw from my half marathon place in a few weeks and cancel social plans with friends and family. And not being able to do those things makes me feel sad and frustrated.

But I am focused on what I can control and what I can do 🙌 🙌 🌈

♥️ Prioritising sleep, nutrition, and gentle activity
♥️ Staying connected — Regularly catching up with friends/family and welcoming visitors (providing they bring cake 😂)
♥️Giving myself permission to feel sadness and frustration
♥️ Spending time in daylight/sunlight to keep up those vitamin D levels ☀️
♥️ Listening to lots of podcasts/audibooks to keep learning 🎧

I am grateful to be surrounded by so many wonderful friends and family who are making me feel very loved 🥰 and well cared for 🩷🩷

Apologies to those clients I had to cancel at short notice, I will be in touch next week to rearrange. 📔
