We look forward to seeing these amazing works of art. Leuchie is a fantastic charity providing invaluable support and resources to those living with neurological conditions and we are priviledged to have them on our doorstep.

⭐️Our Leuchie Lighthouse Trail will see fifteen 8ft lighthouses light up the streets and open spaces of North Berwick for ten weeks in Summer 2026! ⭐️

All ending with a grand auction where each lighthouse will be sold to the highest bidder, raising much-needed funds for people living with neurological conditions and their families💕.

🎨 If you are an artist, then visit leuchie.org.uk/lighthouse-trail to register your interest in designing a lighthouse

Great opportunity for our youngsters.

Calling all 13-15 year olds!
We're launching Surf Life Saving GB's Graduate Lifeguard Programme!
(Okay we understand that most 13-15 year olds aren't on facebook these days, so please pass this on). Register your interest via 🔗 in comments

The Graduate Lifeguard Programme is a 3 year programme for 13 – 15 year olds, teaching and embedding not only lifeguard skills and techniques but important skills and attitudes that support future opportunities both in education and employment.

We've opened an "interest list" so that we can work out the logistics of the sessions.
Initially places on the programme will be limited to 12 due to volunteer numbers.
Places will be randomly assigned. If there are more than 12 interested, a wait list will then be created.

If you're an adult willing to volunteer your time to enable the programme to run, please get in touch (info.nbslsc@gmail.com), and spread the word!

NHS MOVING TO TEXT MESSAGE

As a further digital enhancement to our service and in line with NHS Lothian policies the practice will be moving to annual review invites by text message from November 2025.

Patients listed for annual review* will receive a text message asking them to contact the surgery to make their appointment and quote a reference (given within the text message) to the patient care administrator. The patient care administrator will allocate the patient appointment(s) based on the reference number. There will be no personal information within the text other than patient name and the message will come from NHSNoReply.

Please can patients make sure the surgery has their up to date mobile number and always let us know when you update your number.

We can guarantee we will never:

- Ask you for money
- Spam you with irrelevant information
- Use your number for advertising our services
- Pass on your number to 3rd parties (other than for hospital
referrals)

While we hope all our patients are open to this change which also aims to save the NHS money, we do understand there will be patients who cannot receive text messages. Please let us know if this applies to you by contacting us at the surgery. We will also be advertising this change on our website and around the practice.

* Annual reviews are for chronic long term conditions only.

DIFFICULTY GETTING A GP APPOINTMENT?

In the last three months the surgery had 253 appointments wasted due to non-attendance.

Let that sit for a second .... yes, 253 valuable appointments with a clinician. We do send blood test reminders and are working on introducing reminders for GP appointments booked in advance. However, the majority of our GP appointments are booked on the same day as the appointment.

If you are unable to attend your appointment you can cancel by either calling the Practice in good time on 01620 892169 or via our website northberwickhealthcentre.scot.nhs.uk

Please help us to utilize our appointments as best as possible by cancelling any future appointments that you do not need.

Many thanks for your co-operation.
