💛Bereavement Support Group💛

Grief can feel incredibly heavy, and at times, very lonely. We want you to know that you don’t have to carry it on your own.

With care and compassion, we are hosting a small, welcoming support group for anyone who has experienced a loss. These gatherings offer a gentle space to sit with others who understand, to share if you wish, or simply to be in the company of people who care.

We are pleased to be working alongside Jan Stainforth, a celebrant who is also a bereavement coach, bringing warmth, understanding, and experience to each session.

You do not need to have used our services or had us look after your loved one—this group is open to all who feel they may benefit.

Whether your loss is recent or many years ago, you are very welcome to join us.

📍 Location: The Village Hall, North Ferriby
📅 Date: Course starts on Thursday, 21st May 2026
🕒 Time: 6pm

There is no expectation to speak—just coming along is enough.

If you’d like to attend or have any questions, please feel free to message us. We are here for you.

With warmest wishes
Josephine, Heather and Jan 🤍

Choosing a direct cremation doesn’t mean you have to compromise on care, dignity, or personal service.

More and more families are considering direct cremation as a simple and affordable option—but it’s important to know that who you choose still matters.

With large corporate providers, arrangements are often handled remotely, with little or no personal contact. Families can feel like just another number, and flexibility is often limited.

By choosing a trusted local, independent funeral director, you receive:

• Personal, face-to-face support from people who genuinely care
• Clear guidance every step of the way
• The flexibility to create something meaningful, even with a simple service
• The reassurance that your loved one is cared for locally and respectfully

A direct cremation can still be handled with the highest standards of dignity and compassion—without the impersonal approach of larger companies.

If you’re considering your options or need advice, we’re always here for a friendly, no-obligation conversation.

Because every life deserves to be treated with care, no matter how simple the arrangements.

At such a difficult time, many families find comfort in keeping a loved one close in a meaningful and personal way. 🤍

We are pleased to share a local company who specialise in creating beautiful ashes jewellery — a lasting tribute that allows you to carry cherished memories with you every day. From delicate pendants to elegant rings, each piece is thoughtfully crafted with care and respect.

If this is something you feel may bring comfort to you or your family, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us for more information.

We also have a small selection of examples available to view in our office, should you wish to see them in person.

We are always here to support you, every step of the way 💜

Easter is a time of hope, renewal, and faith. For Christians, it is the celebration of the resurrection — a reminder that even after the darkest times, life and love can rise anew.

It’s also a time to reflect on the people we hold in our hearts. Those who are no longer with us, whose love and guidance continue to shape our lives.

Whether you celebrate Easter in faith, tradition, or simply through quiet reflection, may today bring a gentle sense of hope, comfort, and connection.

Some more flowers families often choose 🤍

🌼 Lilies
A very traditional choice. Often seen as peaceful, calm, and gentle.

🌸 Carnations
Known for their lasting nature. Often chosen to represent enduring love and remembrance.

Sometimes it’s about meaning. Sometimes it’s simply what feels right. And that’s always enough.

If you’re unsure who to choose, we’re always happy to recommend some truly wonderful celebrants to our families 💛

We take great care in suggesting someone who will be the perfect fit for you. Each celebrant we work with brings genuine love, care, and dedication to every service they create.

Next, we have Simon McGowan, who will provide a completely personalised service tailored to your loved one 💛

'Im a 53 year old married family man, born in Hull and proud, with 3 children and a Grandaughter. Family is my world, hence I'm always saying family first. Previously I worked in the retail sector for 25 years (Tesco senior management), live in East Hull, love my football, City season pass holder, music, red wine and lager.

I have been a celebrant for 2 years now and have taken services for many funeral directors; however love Jo and Cogans💜💜💜

A down to earth guy who has limitless life experiences and bags of empathy, compassion and caring. My role of a celebrant is not a job to me, it is a vocation, helping and supporting families is what I do and love to do, simply a down to earth Hull lad, ensuring the families I look after are given every ounce of support and caring making sure that their loved ones get that personal, bespoke service that celebrates their lives.'

Thank you Simon, for all of the amazingly unique services you have delivered for our families 💛

There’s something grounding about stepping outside and taking in a breath of fresh air. Today gave us a moment to pause, reflect, and recharge.

As we prepare to return to the office tomorrow, our focus remains where it always is — on supporting and caring for the families who place their trust in us.

Ready for a new day, and here when you need us 💛
