*We have a male equine facilitator*

We are pleased to announce that Jon is now a qualified EFL ( Equine Facilitator)
He brings a wealth of experience to his approach with our herd due to his Youth Work background and Psychotherapy training.
Jon has years of experience in working with young people and adults in many capacities from education to fostering. We are hoping to encourage more boys to experience the wonderful healing power of horses.

Jons session will be integrated to what the young person or adult needs to support them. The herd will do most of the work as they always do 🙏🏼 however you will be in safe hands.

Shifting baseline syndrome (SBS) is what happens when we forget how vibrant the natural world used to be. Each generation grows up with a more depleted environment and calls it “normal,” simply because it’s all they’ve ever known.

Think about walking through a park and thinking, “This seems healthy.” But maybe 30 years ago that same park had twice as many birds, wildflowers, or insects. If you never saw that version, you don’t feel the loss — and that quiet forgetting becomes the new baseline. Over time, we start accepting degraded ecosystems as normal.

Researchers warn that this shift lowers our expectations, increases our tolerance for decline, and reduces our urgency to protect what’s left.

What helps:

Intergenerational conversations that reconnect us with what nature used to be.

Direct experiences with nature that sharpen our awareness of change.

Remembering (knowing) the past is the first step to restoring the future.

*Funding*

We are delighted to announce that we have received a funding grant from Wotton-Under-Edge Town Council to help subsidize Equine facilitated learning sessions.

This really means so much to us as it means we can help more young people through the power of horses.

We are also collaborating with the local schools ( Bluecoat and British schools) to specifically helo young people who otherwise would not be able to access these sessions. We are also helping young people who are slipping through the net with the SEND system but still desperately need support. Without support these young people increasingly become more vulnerable to continued poor mental health and attendance struggles.

Whilst this is just the start of our fund raising we are looking forward to applying for more and helping our local community.

*Welcome to Helen*

We are thrilled to announce that we have a new herd member “Helen”. She joined our herd last week and is settling in very well.
It’s always a process when a pony joins the herd and it changes the dynamic of the whole herd.
We rehomed Helen from “World Horse Welfare” in Somerset . She is a New Forest Pony and originally lived out as a native pony in a herd. We will fill you in on her progress and can’t wait for you all to meet her.

*Beltane Retreat Day*

‘Find your Sacred Life Force’

Come and join us on Sunday 10th May for our day retreat to celebrate Beltain, one of the four great Cross Quarter Fire Festivals.
This is a time when the sun is in its most potent and active cycle and so offers us an opportunity; to become attuned to our personal power and sacred life force.
It also marks the beginning of summer, growth and potential.

✨What would you like to manifest this summer?’✨

The flowers are out and the sound of birdsong fills the air alongside new life and new energies. With the key elements of fire and water we can consciously access how to put ourselves forward to the outside world.
Beltain is opposite Samhain on the celtic wheel of events - both offer a connection to our higher self and a chance to connect to our inner wisdom.

This is an invitation to be gently supported to heighten your awareness of what you want and need right now. Let us help guide you in this process, to manifest your intentions and focus your energy where growth is needed.

The programme includes:
✨Journalling to focus our intentions in keeping with the season
✨Observation of the herd
✨Shamanic Journey alongside horses to the beat of a drum, tapping into ancient wisdom
✨Guided meditation outdoors with the energetic presence of horses
✨Tarot
✨Fire ceremony & cacao

Time: 11:00 - 4:00
Cost: Early bird price of £95, otherwise £105-115, pay what you can afford.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Location: North Nibley, Gloucestershire

Autism and 'picky eating' get talked about like it’s a phase… or a behaviour problem to fix. But for many autistic children, food can genuinely feel overwhelming, unpredictable, and unsafe — and that changes everything about how we need to support them.

Based upon recent research (e.g. Mathew et al., 2022) showing that children on the autism spectrum are significantly more likely to have feeding difficulties, reduced dietary variety and lower diet quality compared to non-autistic peers, it’s clear that eating behaviours in autism are less about mere 'pickiness' and more about sensory, neurological and regulatory challenges that need targeted support.

In this visual, I’m breaking down what’s really going on underneath food refusal and restricted eating — and how we can respond in ways that protect trust, reduce stress, and build gentle progress over time.

*Farewell Biscotti & Macaroon*

We have heavy hearts today as we unfortunately had to say goodbye to Biscotti and Macaroon ❤️‍🩹

It’s been a difficult time telling our young people at short notice that they would be leaving the herd. This was not our choice but unfortunately their owner decided to move them to set up her own therapy practice.

We will miss them and appreciated how much they gave to us, the young people and the herd. It’s brought up some really interesting topics and themes within our sessions in how we take care of ourselves in times of loss and grief. Now we will take care of the herd as they process the loss of their friends.

Thank you to our wonderful team, parents and community for their love and support 🙏🏼🐴♥️✨

Our hearts have grown from the time you spent with us Biscotti and Macaroon 🐴♥️✨
