This is Lynn Elsdon-O’Brien.
Lynn offers a calm and kind therapeutic space to her clients. She is an integrative therapist with a person-centred core approach, which means she works alongside her clients in an empathic, non-judgemental and genuine way, using a range of therapeutic approaches that respect their needs as a whole person. She finds it an enormous privilege to nurture the client’s process of becoming unstuck: “I love to support people to find a balance of clarity and compassion in their self-discoveries”.
Lynn has experience working with a range of client issues, including grief, loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, identity issues, discrimination, relationship issues, anger, stress and self-worth. She specialised in working with bereaved clients in her time at Cruse, and in working mindfully and somatically in her time as a counsellor at Mindful Therapies. She has continued to train in trauma informed therapeutic approaches.
Before qualifying as a therapist, Lynn’s fascination with the psychological benefits of reading literature led her to achieve an MA on the topic; she also facilitated shared reading for wellbeing groups in prisons, homelessness provision and libraries, and later taught English. She continues to bring her fascination for exploring personal response to literature into the therapy room, with clients that are open to bibliotherapy (reading fiction and poetry therapeutically).
If you would like to find out whether Lynn might be a good match for your needs, please get in touch via the Chapter House website or directly through her website.
