Studies have shown that about 30% of adults over age 70 have trouble with walking, getting up out of a chair or climbing stairs. These kind of mobility limitations are linked to higher rates of falls, chronic disease, nursing home admissions and mortality.
Strength training can increase bone density for stronger bones and slow the loss of muscle, even increase the size of the muscle fibres we have left.
