βοΈ What If The Winter Has Nothing To Do With Your Ill-ness ... βοΈ
π You've probably grown up with the belief that there are "More bugs, viruses π¦ Coughs & Colds at this time of year" ...
[That's what I used to believe too!! Yet when you think about it, it doesn't really make sense...!]
But what if it has nothing to do with viruses π§ͺ𧫠and everything to do with your HABITS, BELIEFS and BEHAVIOURS?
πββοΈ
Have you ever wondered why some people seem more susceptible to every Cough, Splutter, Cold or "Flu Bug" ?!
.. Whilst others sail through the winter months perfectly healthily ...?!
Those of us with animals / livestock tend to remain healthier throughout the winter months.
But what if its less to do with our IMMUNE SYSTEM ... and everything to do with our HABITS, behaviours & LIFESTYLE CHOICES...?!
Do we stay Healthier because we're more resilient...?!
Or because we are still getting plenty of fresh air, exercise and sunshine ...??!?
βοΈ Winter doesnβt just bring cold weatherβit often leads to habits that deplete our energy and immune system.
According to Ayurveda, it's not just about the drop in temperature; factors like reduced sunlight, sedentary behavior, and poor dietary choices make the body more susceptible to illness. When we eat more processed foods or indulge in sugary treats, inflammation increases, leaving our immune system weaker.
βοΈ To stay well during the colder months, Ayurveda recommends focusing on improving your habits. Spend time outdoors in the sunlight whenever possible, and make movement part of your daily routine. Whether itβs a brisk walk or yoga session, physical activity supports circulation and immune function, while also reducing stress levels, which can lower your bodyβs ability to fight off illness.
Additionally, the foods you eat play a pivotal role in your overall wellness. Incorporate anti-inflammatory foods, like ginger, turmeric, and leafy greens, to counteract the harmful effects of inflammation. By making these changes, your body will stay resilient, no matter what the season brings. π±π
