Pre-paid funeral plans. They can be a difficult subject.

We live in an age where our TV’s are swamped by adverts from national companies with big marketing budgets – but what if your local independent business could offer you the same arrangement, but at a better price and with a better customer experience, and with everything taking place locally?

As a funeral directors, we pride ourselves in the high-quality service that we can provide – we’ve been doing so for 175 years. Adapting to the needs of our community is something which makes being an independent company so much more advantageous over a corporation.

One of the most positive ways that we’ve been able to serve our community is by offering a local & affordable unattended cremation service, which compliments our portfolio of simple and traditional funeral services, so that we can offer a full suite of services when you need us.

But did you know that you can take care of everything in advance? A pre-paid funeral plan allows everything to be taken care of in advance, easing both emotional and financial stress on your family when that time comes.

If you have ever wanted to discuss a pre-paid funeral plan, or any of the options available to you, please do get in touch with us.

It doesn't seem quite right to talk about Christmas in October, does it?!

Last year was our first Carols & Candles service, which was held in St Nicholas Church in North Walsham and we were so delighted that nearly 200 people joined us for the evening that it only felt right that we introduced the same event in Stalham.

I would like to extend an invitation to you and to this community to join us on the 4th December at Stalham Baptist Church at 7pm for Carols & Candles 2025. This is not just for families of Murrell Cork Funerals, but for anyone who struggles and needs some support at what can be a very tough time of year.

I hope to see as many of you as we can on the 4th

It doesn't seem quite right to talk about Christmas in October, does it?!

Last year was our first Carols & Candles service, which was held in St Nicholas Church & North Walsham Benefice and we were so overwhelmed that nearly 200 of you joined us for the evening that it only felt right that we made this a regular fixture in our calendar.

Again, I extend an invitation to you and to this community to save the date and join us on the 3rd December at St Nicholas Church at 7pm for Carols & Candles 2025. This is not just for families of Murrell Cork Funerals, but for anyone who struggles and needs some support at what can be a very tough time of year.

A big thank you also to our friends at Gordon Haynes Independent Funeral Services Limited who have accepted our invitation to join us, and will extend to their own families - I am very grateful for your support.

I hope to see as many of you as we can on the 3rd

Last Friday we were honoured to lead Mr Reginald Curtis on his final journey.

Reg was an RAF veteran, having served as a gunner on the Lancaster bombers during WW2.

At ease, Reg, and thank you for your service

Always so lovely to get feedback like this 🩶

It was my dearest friends funeral on 28th August 2025 and can I just say how kind your staff were from beginning to end. Stacey, initially dealing with a blubbering wreck of a person (me) and not having the first notion of where to start arranging a funeral. Her kindness, patience and professionalism was second to none. Alec with his calmness and endless patience towards me telephoning frequently or popping in about arrangements with no question being too silly or too small. And what can I say about Ian? As our funeral director on the day, he truly went above and beyond to make things run smoothly. The funeral seemed so effortless and professional at all times. I was recommended by a friend to use Murrell Cork Funeral directors as I literally had no clue where to start. I am so glad I did. What struck me above all was the genuine kindness of everyone I dealt with at Murrell Cork. That personal touch meant so much and please pass on my gratitude and thanks to all involved.

Today is National Grief Awareness Day – a reminder that grief touches us all, in different ways and at different times.

🩶 There is no ‘right’ way to grieve
🩶 Grief is more than sadness
🩶 Everyone has a right to grieve
🩶 Silence can hurt just as much as words
🩶 Grief cannot be ‘fixed’
🩶 Grief has no expiry date

If you’re grieving, know that your feelings are valid. And if you’re supporting someone who is, kindness, patience, and simply being present can mean more than you realise.
