The Clinical Director and Founder is Annette Aldridge MSc, PGCE, RGN (NMC:87CO993E).
Annette has worked in Dermatology for over 25 years. She developed a Dermatology Nursing role initially at North West London Hospital and then relocated to a regional Dermatology Unit specialising in Photodermatology and LASER.
This was followed by working in a North London Hospital and building up a Dermatology Nursing Department from one to eleven nurses where she undertook supervision and training for nurses to undertake Phototherapy, Skin Surgery, Allergy Testing , Photodynamic Therapy, Allergy Testing, Skin Cancer Support, and Drug Monitoring. During her time there the department became the largest Skin Cancer service in London where she ended up heading up the nursing service across five sites.
Annette currently works for an NHS Trust as the Lead Nurse and joint Lead of the service. She has set up a dedicated Skin Cancer Service, and along with re-structuring the department where she has implemented dedicated paediatric, acne, biologics, and hyperhidrosis clinics. She is a adept at skin flaps and grafts as well as wound care and leg ulcer management. Annette is a recognised trainer in skin surgery and regularly teaches doctors and nurses in this advanced skill.
Every few months, attends the University of Hertfordshire as a visiting lecturer. She has also published articles in peer reviewed journals covering topics ranging from skin lesions to comorbidities of diseases such as psoriasis.
Angeliki Liakopoulou MD (GMC: 7470944) is a Dermatologist.
Dr Angeliki Liakopoulou MD, qualified from Ioannina Medical School in Greece in 2010 with honorary distinction. She is member of Royal Society of Medicine and her interests include diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, psoriasis, hyperhidrosis, paediatric dermatology, acne and cosmetic dermatology.
Whilst in Greece Dr Liakopoulou worked as a resident in Internal Medicine from 2011-2012, which helped her to build up more her experience and deal with difficult medical cases. In 2013-2014 she did her rural medical service, during which she treated patients with a multitude of medical problems. In 2015-2016 she worked as a dermatology resident in Veterans Administration Hospital in Athens, which is the second biggest military hospital in Athens. She was responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of skin disorders. In addition, during this period she was assisting at a private dermatology clinic in Athens, where she was exposed to a range of general dermatology diseases as well as aesthetic procedures.
Since 2016, she is working as a Specialty Registrar in a NHS Trust and at this post she deals with a variety of dermatologic conditions, including skin cancer, acne, psoriasis, diagnosing benign skin lesions, atopic dermatitis, alopecia, paediatric dermatology and many others. She has acquired excellent surgical skills and she is conducting multiple minor procedures including excision of cancerous and non-cancerous lesions.
She understands how important it is to transfer the knowledge to the new generations and therefore she is actively participating in medical teaching and she is responsible for teaching dermatology in final year medical students.
Her commitment in dermatology is evident through multiple participation in dermatological conferences and courses which offer new evidence-based knowledge as well as non-surgical/surgical skills.
Furthermore, she has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals, as she believes that research is an important parameter in medical evolution.
Finally, she acknowledges that aesthetic medicine is an important aspect of dermatology and she will offer a sensible and honest approach in those patients wishing to consider aesthetic dermatological interventions.
Rachel Allen - Director, Healthcare Assistant/Receptionist
Rachel's career started in Wales on a psychiatrist care of the elderly ward as a Healthcare Assistant then moving to a Forensic Psychiatric Unit for 8 years. She thoroughly enjoyed her role before moving to England.
For the past several years, Rachel has owned and run an organic small holding.
Rachel has a keen interest in Dermatology which is why she has become a Director for the clinic. Her role within the day to day running of the clinic will be to assist with clinical procedures alongside making your appointments, organise invoicing and offering a warm friendly welcome.
Salma Al-Ramadhani MB,BS (GMC: 6147557) Consultant Histopathologist
The clinic is supported by Dr Salma Al-Ramadhani who undertakes the interpretation of tissue samples for diagnosis.
