So many of our patients wished they bought hearing aids from us sooner, some of the real reasons to wear hearing aids are…

Below is a really interesting article about unregulated wax removal, unfortunately there is a growing trend in people offering wax removal after a days course. This is so dangerous.

It took us 4 years to qualify as Audiologists and we have years of experience working within the NHS and private sector, always make sure the person removing your wax is fully qualified with the correct registration and insurance.

Another lovely review from one of our patients, Mr Barnes started as a wax removal patient who needed hearing aids but definitely wasn’t keen. We monitored his hearing over 3 years and eventually he decided to go down the hearing aid route and is doing exceptionally well.
It can take time for some patients to accept they need hearing aids and we are here to support all of our patients while they make that decision.

I get a bit reluctant posting on social media as we get so many negative comments as we aren’t NHS and we charge for hearing aids and wax removal. So many people say this should be a free service.

Just to put that into context, Brendan and I are a husband and wife team who worked within the NHS for a lot of years, Brendan qualified in the 90’s myself in 2008.
During lockdown and working from home we decided to offer a small clinic in the village (Swainby) for the local residents, somewhere safe for them to come and get their hearing aids checked, fixed, have wax removal and hearing tests.
We soon realised that there was a demand for our services, fully qualified Audiologists who have many years of experience working in a village with easy access, same day appointments and the ability to offer what the NHS does. So things snowballed and we now work in Swainby Tuesdays through to Friday and Northallerton on a Monday.
The majority of our work is free of charge, we can go days without charging a patient for their appointment, we refer to the NHS, we see patients last minute, we go above and beyond for all of our patients. Yes we do charge for wax removal and for hearing aids but we need to make a living.

The NHS is free and we encourage all patients to get their NHS hearing aids but they don’t and can’t offer the same services or hearing aids that we do, we know this because we worked in the NHS.
We can fit hearing aids as quickly as 48 hours after they have been ordered, we review minimally every 2 weeks but it’s very much a patient by patient relationship, some have more review some have less, basically we do what the patient needs.

💥Do you know who’s removing the wax from your ears?💥

The wax removal industry isn’t regulated, so many so callled ‘professionals’ are working in and around the area claiming they know what they are doing. Please please go to a fully qualified Audiologist for your wax removal and hearing tests. We are fully qualified Audiologists with years and years of experience within the NHS and private sector and have seen too many cases of patients going to someone who isn’t properly trained being told one thing then eventually coming to us with more problems than they started with.

Wax removal - £40 for one ear, £70 for both.
Hearing Assessment’s - free of charge.

We also do a range of hearing aids and if you buy hearing aids from all, all your aftercare including wax removal is included in the price while you have those aids.
