The final team have taken on the tower this weekend and absolutely smashed it! It was slightly windy up there on Saturday but they made it down in one piece!

There is still time to sponsor them all! The cumulative total from the amazing abseilers is currently standing at an incredible £3,980!

Today is the day another amazing group take all 418 feet of the Northampton Lift Tower to help us raise much needed funds for Toms rehab!

After 16 long and challenging months we are pleased to say that Tom has finally made it home and is sleeping in his own bed tonight! Will update properly in a few days but thought everyone would want to know…it wouldn’t have been possible without the help and support from everyone. Lots of love Tom, Sophie and Gabriel xx

This weekend Toms amazing Gearbox Build colleagues at Mercedes Alex Dawson, Jonathan Mayes, Michael Walker, and Owen Richards will be taking on the 'National Three Peaks Challenge'. Here is what they had to say ahead of their challenge:

“The National Three Peaks Challenge is one of the most popular trekking challenges in the country and involves climbing the highest mountain in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike), and Wales (Mount Snowdon).

We are a self-sufficient team and have set ourselves the target of completing the challenge in 24 hours. The biggest obstacle to overcome will be the driving between each mountain and rotating the journeys appropriately!"

We have been thinking about taking on the challenge for some time, and when we finally committed, we felt that we should use our efforts to raise money for a good cause. Almost immediately, we agreed to dedicate the climb to Tom Spina.

Tom would regularly visit Gearbox Build with machined parts, and being one of our own, this is undoubtedly the best use of our funds”.

These inspiring guys have already raised over £1,000 in support of Tom and his recovery journey. We’re counting down to the next incredible group to take on the abseil at the Northampton lift tower! The next group will face the 418 feet on September 30th!

One of the team cycled to the lift tower at the weekend ahead of their upcoming abseil to check out the challenge they are facing…see their pic below to see just how amazing these people are!

Unfortunately when I set up their fundraising page I didn’t take into account the breadth of dates people doing the abseil are covering and as a result the page has now closed. They had already raised a phenomenal £2960 towards their £5000 target but with a few more abseils still planned I’ve created a new page so we can still get them to that total!

All of the monies raised so far are completely safe and are already en route to Sophie and Tom and will be used to fund ongoing rehabilitation therapies once we finally get Tom home (…watch this space as rumour has it, it’s quite soon!).

Big day in the Spina house today - we had a visitor! Only a few more weeks now and Tom will hopefully be back for good. All made possible by all of you who helped us raise so much to get the house ready. Still a couple of bits to sort but nearly there ❤️

It’s abseil day for Siobhan, Jon, Marcella and Maggie! Too windy to do outside unfortunately so hopefully lots of photos from inside to come later! The abseil team have raised over £2500 already with 2 more abseils to come over the next few months!

Congratulations to the ‘77s who took home the win with a final score of 3-1 🏆

Well done to the winner of the 50:50 raffle who won 50% of the £400 monies raised from the raffle alone and who then went on to generously donate some of their winnings back into the fundraising pot! Thank you so much!

Thank you to everyone who came along and took part and for those that came to support and cheer the players on….we hear a rematch may be on the cards for next year?! 👀
