Let’s talk about corns!🗣️

These can be a very small, but extremely painful problem for people of all ages. We like to use a mix of different approaches to help ease your pain. In this reel, Rose is making an otoform inter digital wedge to help reduce pressure (after removing the corns of course).

Using a device like this is good, but it is also important to make sure you are in well fitting footwear, which has a rounded or foot shaped toe box (sorry, tight pointed boots 👢 and converse are not good options!). Addressing the underlying cause can help to get rid of the corns completely. In this case, it is a large neuroma causing the 2nd toe to deviate towards the big toe, and this is our last attempt at avoiding surgery.

🪄 6 week review yesterday, for a total nail removal with phenolisation. The left big toe has healed beautifully, however the right one has a little bit longer to go before it’s fully healed, as it was a particularly bad ingrown toenail.
This patient has been a real trooper 💪🏻 and looking forward to a lovely (pain free!) holiday to Spain this summer ☀️
